Wasn't sure what to expect since we had just arrived from the Rambagh Palace hotel in Jaipur. However, we were pleasantly surprised by the whole experience. Greeted by rose petal shower & red dots, an unexpected treat for a desert camp site. Stayed in a luxury cottage, which has permanant walls and A/C with a tented roof. Accommodations were very... more

We stayed here Nov 17 - 19 during the camel fair & had a great time. We stayed in the least luxurious tents - no hot water, but could get a bucket of hot water whenever we asked, with no problems. Yes, the evenings were chilly, but what do you expect in a tent in the desert? Plenty of blankets... more

The most important first: The management and owner has changed recently. During a discussion the manager admitted that his tents are not worth the money and he called his property a "milk cow". The property is a nice low-class camp without any luxury. The problem is that the room rates have a 5 star level and they call themselves "... more

We booked a two night stay in the best accomodation (luxury tent, private bathroom & Co.) through the hostelbookers.com website. The price was 208 Euros per night. When we arrived, on Nov 21, we were "derouted" to the secondary camp, built up only for the Fairy, and the management put us in a less than basic tent without hot-water (see... more

Made reservations there on the recommendation of a co-worker. Didn't know at the time that we would be financially RAPED because of the camel fair. I was in a party of three. I lost my passport and had to stay behind in Delhi to sort it out since I was leaving in a few days. No compassion whatever from the... more

Pushkar (famous for it's camel festival in Oct/Nov) has a few locations to stay. The Pushkar Bagh Resort is both the nicest and furthest away from the main bazaar. The villas (that we saw) are simple one bedroom hotel rooms with standard furniture, but provide privacy from any other guests. The staff was helpful and great in the restaurant (which... more

The property itself is very pretty--the lawns and flowers a welcome site in the dessert. The villas were a nice touch, offering plenty of privacy, but the furniture has seen better days. The drawback for me was the distance to Pushkar's main bazzar (3.5km), but if you are looking to get away from the chaos, this is a nice option... more
