We just got back from staying at this hotel. We had read some reviews and were a little leary. When we tired to check into our room, it was not ready. We had read in past reviews this happened to other people. Within 10 minutes another room was found for us (not the king size bed we requested but 2... more

It's difficult to know whether YOU will like this hotel or not. I do. I've stayed here a few times, often during multi-day visits to the SF Bay area. The hotel is undergoing renovation, but this has been going on for a while (and will likely continue for a while longer). Different parts of the hotel, nearly a “motel,” with... more

Just back from a long weekend at this hotel. Was weary based on past reviews but chose this hotel because of the location (we used to live nearby and wanted to visit our old hood). We were very pleasantly surprised. We got a renovated junior suite....good amount of space. Furnishing totally decent but not decadent. New tv, comfy bed. The... more

After living in Berkeley for 10 years, we were happy to get this hotel for $75. Personally we love the location next to Cesaer Chavez Park (there is a great walking/running trail there that goes out along the Bay). Yes, the low price was because they are renovating and nothing was available. Berkeley is one of the great food towns... more

This was the second time I have stayed here. Love the location as I love the sea. However, this time the hotel was under renovations, I was not made aware of this when I booked the room. The Marina view restuarant and bar was closed and a temperary one was set up with NO view of the marina. The noise... more

We attended our daughter's graduation in Berkeley and rented 4 rooms for 3 nights for a total of 9 people with a 3 week advance notice. We requested that our elderly mother be put in a room near one of us so we could assist her with luggage. We also asked if she could be put on the harbor side... more

Because of a work conference, I had the unfortunate experience of staying in this hotel for four miserable nights. The hotel is under major construction currently. The rooms that are "converted" have been refreshed but have views of construction storage containers (which makes it really loud when it rains). I had a room that directly faced the parking lot and... more

This is a great hotel and location if you're looking to stay near San Francisco. It is located right on the other side of the bay and best of all, it has free parking. Seemed like it was $25 or more a day anywhere inside SF. It is an older facility but the beds were awesome if you like a... more

I have mixed feelings about this hotel. We got a great rate a little under $50 on priceline and I while I would not hesitant to book again at that price, I would prefer to stay in Emeryville. The hotel is being renovating and we put in one of the older wings. This was fine but the heater in the... more

HEALTH AND SAFETY ISSUES included being locked in my room without any ability to get out without engineering removing the door. When I called the front desk to alert them, their customer service sequence included: 1) laughing, 2) hanging up, and 3) ignoring my call from the room (discovered when they answered call from my cell). After the doorknob and... more
