Posting this years after the fact, and feeling guilty about not sharing and sparing the experience early enough for some travelers, including good friends who recently and coincidentally had a bad experience. Please, if you are counting on a relaxed atmosphere with typical B&B hospitality, this is NOT the place for you. Our stay started with the innkeeper who opened... more

Years ago, I knew one of the owners and since he and his partner sold this place, it has falled apart. I have stopped by to see if things had changed, but alas, not so. I also had a very good friend in the wine industry who had offered to do wine tasting there, the innkeeper was not interested. Knowing... more

Very unclean. Never saw the hosts. Front door and bedroom door did not lock. Windows did not open. Sheets were not clean. Human stains throughout. Only positives were it was off the main drag (walking distance) and the breakfast was good. more

Although this landmark inn has a great reputation and is located perfectly off the main drag, it is lacking in the most basic of B&B requirements, warmth & attentiveness. The Inn is charming in appearance, albeit very in need of restoration. The owners were nowhere to be found and the "fill-in" greeting committee was short & cold, more worried about... more

My husband and I stayed there two nights and we never saw the Innkeeper. No one ever greeted us, asked us how things were or if we needed assistance of any kind. In other words no customer service whatsoever. The room was almost 300 per night with the tax and the bed was terribly uncomfortable. The room was dark and... more

I had the best time ever! I came by myself to get away from the hustle and bustle. The room I stayed in was SO cute. It was the brides room and the bed, well I just didn't want to get out of it. When I finally did, I went down to an awesome breakfast. The woman cooking was so... more

We ended up staying here because the place we originally tried to get into was full and we needed to get away for a weekend. One of their suggestions was The Elms. Unfortunately, we booked before I checked TripAdvisor for user comments (not that these are always accurate but they give you an idea of what you might expect). I... more

For the money this place charges you can get much better service somewhere else. The owners, such as others mentioned, are polite but not friendly, we could not get any information from them on where to eat or what wineries to see. They were not around much or made any effort to make us feel welcome. Their breakfast is a... more

Talk about location?! The Elms Bed & Breakfast is right downtown, around the corner from all the fun we had in town last weekend. We could walk everywhere in town, from mud bathing to lunch to wine tasting to dinner; after wine & cheese in the afternoons, we would nap, then wake refreshed for another fun evening in this cute... more

We chose Calistoga for our trip to the Napa Valley this holiday weekend, and were thrilled with our results. We stayed at The Elms Bed & Breakfast in downtown Calistoga after seeing it on the internet. We stayed in their Private Domain room which was exactly that--private, cozy, fireplace, dreamy bed, hot tub right outside our door. The food was... more
