From the minute you arrive you are treated to first class service. Settings are a little stark, but elegant. What a way to travel! We loved our staff & our guides & food. Most of all loved meeting all the interesting other travelers at our dinner table. And of course, Bhutan is one of the more special countries on our... more

My husband and I visited Bhutan for our honeymoon, following a week in tahiti and other places en route. Countering recommendations by our agent, Andrew Harper, we spent 8 nights in Bhutan. Although the agent thought we would be bored and find the Aman to be "rustic" and the overall experience to be geared to seniors, we held fast to... more

Staff is fantastic...guides are great....rooms are incredible....food is above average but the menu itself is better than the quality.....after 4 days of the menu and you get a bit tired of it.....the rain shower was truly the best I have ever had...spa treatments were excellent....views and overall feel of the resort were just great.....drawbacks? truly not one.....even the cost (... more

I booked the tour of Bhutan through my local travel agent (Milan, Italy) and I discovered that it is useless because the Italian travel agent have to let the bhutanese travel agent to organise the tour ... so you can save some money booking it by yourself, you only have to contact directly the Amankora Resort which will be delitghted... more

My husband and I just returned from 9 days in Bhutan. It was very difficult to leave and we started planning our return trip before we even left the country! After nine days with our wonderful driver and excellent guide, we felt like we were leaving good friends behind. We spent the first and last two nights of our trip... more

Amankora has proved to be another worthy addition to the aman group. As one might expect the service is perfect. The staff will go running for what ever you request. The food, unexpectedly, turned out delicious. The Thai Chef has chosen an agreeable menu. The views are ofcourse great. The rooms are large, comfortable and sleek but not pretentious. I... more

The moment you step onto the pine-needled path through a little wood leading up to the entrance of the Amankora you realise this is going to be a place like no other. The Amankora 'family' greet you at this small lodge as if you're a long-lost friend. It's a tranquil spot with a beautiful view of Jumolhari in the distance... more

My husband and I were fortunate enough to travel to Bhutan on our honeymoon; it was certainly a memorable experience and a wonderful way to start our marriage. The flight into Bhutan is an experience in itself. If you are a nervous flyer don’t sit next to a window, the trees can get really close! After clearing customs and gathering... more

Amankora is more than just a resort… it is an extraordinary experience filled with pure luxury and outstanding service, a stay which I would never forget. I checked into Amankora Punakha on the spur of the moment (thank goodness they have a room available!) and stayed for one night. I thought I would leave my luggage in the room and... more

Amankora offered a fantastic way to experience a breathtaking country. Our guide, Tshering, and our driver, Karma, took great care of us from the time we stepped off the plane in Paro. We visited all four lodges, spending two nights at Thimphu, one night at Gangtey, two nights at Punakha and three nights at Paro. This felt like just the... more
