We stayed at the Candle light inn because we wanted a hotel in Carmel for a reasonable price. It was a cute hotel in a great location (could walk to restaurants). It was a great stay for the low price we were paying. I strongly recommend Christophers restaurant on Lincoln Ave. and it is within walking distance from the hotel more

I went in with a little lower expectation of the place, but it surpassed my thoughts. The Candle Light Inn was such a great place to stay. It's located right next to the Hog's Breath restaurant and is really conveniently located to all the shops in town. It's about 5 blocks up from the beach, but it's a nice walk.... more

My wife, two children and I had a great stay at the Candlelight Inn recently. We stayed in room #12 which has a small room with a double bed, bathroom, a small countertop area with coffee/microwave and a large bedroom with two doubles, a fireplace, desk etc. The room was perfect with our two year old sleeping in her pack... more

This is a quaint little inn where you can park your car and forget about it for a few days while you walk about town. Carmel isn't too big so everything is within a reasonable walking distance. I paid $139 midweek for a king room with a whirlpool tub. The room is very spacious and the bathroom is slightly crowded... more

My husband and I flew into San Francisco, rented a car and drove down Pacific Hwy 1 to Carmel. After a little confusion (no numbers on the houses / properties in Carmel) we found our inn. It is a small inn, a little outdated, but very clean with very comfortable beds. The innkeeper was exceptionally friendly, checked us in quickly... more

I was visiting Carmel with my cousin and I directly booked the Candle Light Inn by phone. This is an Inns by the Sea property. I had stayed in their Half Moon Bay property and liked the property. This property is much different and not as nice The rooms are really old and are in need of major updating. The... more

we checked in early with no problems. The innkeeper was very helpful giving us a local map and some handy advice. The room was clean and a nice size. The only downside was the noise the trash truck made very early in the morning. The breakfast was a bit of a disappointment cereals, juice and a muffin that was stale. But... more

My family stayed at the Candle Light for quick one night get a way before school started. We stayed in their cheapest room, a king w/ a pullout single sofa. They seem to try make the rooms look cute, but on closer inspection things look a little shaby. We didn't have a problem with noise, we were upstairs and on... more

We are very sorry that this family did not have a pleasant experience with us. Because we strive very hard to provide comfortable accommodations and cordial hospitality, the issues cited in this review were extremely troubling to us and have been addressed with the innkeeper and housekeeping staff. Additionally, the Candle Light Inn is under new management and has a...

Our room at the Candlelight Inn was alluring, bright, airy and romantic with it's white-washed high wood ceilings and ceiling to floor windows. The window seat overlooked fragrant pines and the cozy fireplace topped off the spacious king-sized bed room. We enjoyed the beautiful blue tiled bathroom with its Jacuzzi jet tub and the comfortable robes provided. We ordered what... more

This little place is close to downtown so one can walk to Ocean Ave which is great however, it is tired buy most any standard. The staff was wonderful and the rooms where very clean. We paid $ 179 a night which is a bit much for such a older facility. We stayed in rm # 7, upstairs. I don’t... more
