This was to be a special getaway, our first as a couple. I booked the Royal Suite for 2 nights. This is room fourteen, a "spa" room "offering intimacy enhanced with all the modern conveniences." When we checked in, the manager told us that there was a problem with our room and that we were being given a "really nice... more

This was the worse decor I've ever seen, complete with plastic flowers and naked light bulbs. The chandelier in our room was a cheapie thing from home depo at best. The room was just plain drab. The fireplace / heater went out and had to wait until the next morning until the caretaker came in and demonstrated how to relight... more

I'm not a big fan of B&Bs, and this didn't change my mind. In a low income neighborhood, the overpriced Magnolia had no checkin (we helped ourselves to keys at 8pm), though i was glad to checkout. The bed was WAY to small (was it meant for children?), the bathroom musty, perhaps mouldy? No drinks in the room (an empty... more

I am not sure if this is the fault of the hotel or expedia either way our stay here was very disappointing. Our room was small and had few of the amenities expedia promised. When we arrived the hotel did not have our booking and so I suspect we were given the 'dud' room as a last resort. Breakfast is... more

If you read the reviews of this B & B you will be extremely dissapointed. We ran into locals that told us the Magnolia had switched management and gone down hill. So much so that a gentleman that use to shows his wines there (which were excellent) no longer does because of the reputation at the Magnolia. The room had... more

I was shocked and astonished at the cleanliness of the hotel. The previous reviews must be incorrect because the staff was very nice, the hotel was very clean, the yard was perfectly manicured and our room was wonderful. This is a very old house and it is not a newly renovated place but the results of staying with the Magnolia... more

This B&B was the worst one I've ever stayed at. To begin, when you walk up the rickety steps to get into the place, you're greeted by the smell of must and cat urine when you walk into the entryway. On a tour through the property you'll notice that it looks like Ceaser's Palace threw up in the dining room.... more

We had informed the receptionist that we would be arriving late. She said that our keys would be in the mailbox with instructions on how to get to our room. We got in earlier than expected, at 9pm. There were no keys in the mailbox and no answer at the door. There was loud music coming from the adjacent house... more

We felt insulted from minute one . . . the greeting area smelled like cat pee. Our rooms hadn't been dusted in the New Millennium. Everything in the rooms had some kind of label on it so we felt like we were in WalMart. NO CHEST OF DRAWERS in the room or VANITY WITH DRAWERS in the bathroom so we... more

The Blue Violet Mansion is now the "Magnolia Napa Valley". We stayed there May 10 and May 11, 2007. On our first night we were the only guests in the hotel. This was odd because we asked to be moved to a quieter room since there were noisy people using the pool which was just below our room. They weren't... more
