Just spent 3 nights at the Mayfair. My friend had stayed there years ago and recomended it. Well - it may have been great 20 years ago - but it certainly isn't now. The floor in our room was so dirty that if you didn't wear anything on your feet, they were black after 5 minutes. The room was quite... more

Do I wish I had read about this place before this past weekend...my wife and I were in town for the weekend, and based on location and price selected The Mayfair. When we checked in, we were informed of having the "honeymoon suite" and thought "Great". Well the room was pretty nice with a huge hot tube and living area... more

I just stayed at the Mayfair again April 2008. This is my fourth year of staying at the Mayfair. This visit was a defining experience and I was so disappointed I will no longer ever stay at the Mayfair. It is very disappointing because this is a very beautiful hotel that is not being kept up. It took a minimum... more

I stay here once in a while because of rates. The rooms 2 years ago were in great shape. The hotel gets dirtier and dirtier by the day. WORSE, is its once again a construction site! Noisy, jack hammering, etc. I guess they are adding some expansion to the roof. its a dust bowl of dirt! There is NO staff???... more

We were so excited about staying at this hotel after seeing the pictures. Our first night there, while out late at a club, we were robbed. Someone got into our room and grabbed $1500 worth of jewelry (which I could not put in the safe as it was shut and I was told that there was no technician available to... more

Stayed there for 5 nights to attend the Key Biscayne tennis tournament. First the good points: -- Location: very conveniently located within walking distance to all tourist attractions such as malls, restaurants and a book store/coffee shop. No need to rent a car since the parking fee was 25 USD a night. -- Bed & Bath: good mattress with smooth... more

Sheets felt inferior, peebly. Duvet and pillows were dingy. Jacuzzi was broken; the chair next to it was dingy. The air conditioning controls were not satisfactory, and I came home with a sinus infection. I doubt that it is a coincidence. The pool was not available. I knew that when I went, but not when I booked. By the time... more

This is by NO means a 4 star hotel......2 at best. After we checked in & asked for some recommendations for lunch, we knew we were in trouble from the start. The concierge told us about Hooters & The Cheesecake Factory as good options for lunch. It went downhill from there. To say that the help at the Front Desk... more

After a very sluggish start to a "Griswoldish" spring break with my wife and two kids. When I had the bright idea to take the family cross country in the family truckster little did I know what was in store. Luckily for us, I had taken the advice of my brother and called the Mayfair at the last minute and... more

This is really a tired looking hotel. We had a big room, but really tired looking. The dirty jacuzzy on the balcony is a joke. No one will sit in that! Anyway, most important reasons we will never go back there are: * place is very, very noisy! We wanted to go to bed early to catch an early flight,... more
