Contrary to what they say on their website (Beach 0.1 mile), this hotel is a long walk from the beach. To cross a busy 6-lane Highway 98 you have to walk 150 yards on a shoulder to a pedestrian crossing, cross the highway, then walk another 300 yards or so to a public beach access, all in suffocating FL sun... more

Had to leave the Wingate at 12am after numerous issues and this location was the only one to answer the phone and helped us out with a room so late at night. Hotel was fine for what we needed it for, but the a/c in our room was not functioning properly and the ceiling fan made an awful racket. more

The Best Western Summerplace is a beautiful building, but they are really understaffed. The outdoor pool was very dirty with leaves, a styrofoam cup, and a very large band-aid floating in it.
