I was not sure what to expect with this hotel being downtown, but it was perfect for a weekend getaway with my husband. The service was excellent, the views were remarkable from every angle of the hotel. If you are looking for the South Beach scene, this probably isn't for you - it's quieter and much more low key....but if... more

It seems strange I would love this hotel smack in the middle of downtown Miami, but I do! What a wonderful weekend we had at the Mandarin. It was our anniversary and we were looking for a quiet, lovely place close to the Miami action, but had upscale flavor and was quiet at night. The hotel did not disappoint. Our... more

This hotel is pure luxury! We had a "spa-room" on the 6th floor, those are the ones with the huge terraces (we were upgraded at no cost upon checking in from a standard room). Bathroom is amazing, bed is very comfortable, the only complaint we might have is that the A/C is kind of noisy and you can't turn the... more

Excellent service, beautiful decor, very attractive setting, lovely ocean view. But for the price, it did not offer what I would look for whether I was there on vacation or business. For this trip I was there on business. I was 'upgraded' to a deluxe room with small balcony and view. But the room had two standard sized DOUBLE beds,... more

Stayed 6 nights - big mistake as it's just so isolated - perhaps good for business travellers but not for holidaymakers. Just to go anywhere else do something like visit Coral Gables/ South Beach/Bal Harbour involved a 30-45min cab ride so added at least $80 a day to your costs. Ghastly fake beach - no shade - very windy so... more

We stayed at the Mandarin for a few nights in March. I have to say that the service was excellent. The entire staff team was extremely gracious. The 1.3 mile loop around the hotel was wonderful for jogging/walking and the fitness center was very well-equipped. The only complain we had was that the pool is a little too small -... more

My wife and I just spent a long weekend at the Mandarin and it was super. The staff was attentive, the spa, pool and beach wonderful. Spectacular views! Good food! I would recommend this hotel for a business stay or as a destination for a long weekend. The hotel offers garage service for a fee or you can use a... more

I stayed at the Mandarin for two nights, and have never received such great customer service in my life. The staff was friendly and professional, the rooms were amazing, and the food at Cafe Sambal and Azul was phenomenal. And the martini bar has over 250 types of martinis! The only downside to staying at this hotel - for me... more

Have been there about half a dozen times before, always enjoy the peaceful zen spirit. This weekend was no different, but some observations. The hotel service was top notch, although the restaurants were somewhat slow; waited 25 minutes for a sandwich and sushi roll. The pool area is very small (although hip and easy access to cocktails and snacks), but... more

Sorry but I don't get the hype here. For $655 a night, one gets a 4 star hotel room -- an old, medium-sized TV, worn curtains, carpets and armoire, a stained white sofa, and a lousy shower head. The bed, though, is very comfy. Plugging in my computer required unplugging the one desk lamp as there were only 2 sockets... more
