The Smith Creek Cottage we stayed in (#7) left a lot to be desired and was in bad need of a total refurb, especially for the total rental cost of almost $250 for two (Oct) nights. Contacted cottage management and was told all the Smith Creek Cottages are to be refurbished winter 2008. The one we stayed in was a... more

We stayed at the Unicoi State Park in the Smith Creek Cottages number 5. Upon arrival we were very disapointed in the filth inside. We decided to make the best of it and spent several hours cleaning. We had to buy covers for all the furniture. After a long day we were very tired and were ready for a good night... more

My family and I stayed at the Unicoi State Park Lodge in a 2 BR Barrel cottage. More than what we expected ! The cottage was so spacious for 2 families with children. Full kitchen, living room with fire place, upstairs bedrooms and a porch outside overlooking the lake. So Peaceful! Heads up, NO TV ! The location was convenient... more

I stayed at this lodge for a conference, so the cost of the room was already paid for. The room was small and in fair condition. There are common areas in the center of each building that serve as a nice area to relax, however it can be annoying if people are out there making noise while you are trying... more

Property is very dated. The entire lodge B is musty inside, and smells old. The "game room" should not even be listed in the property details. There are three items in the "game room". First, there is ONE pinball machine, with one fully functional flipper. Next, there is an air hockey machine with no puck. Last, there is a pool... more

My wife and I stayed in the lodge for a weekend. The room came with two double beds, which we found very romantic. This turned out not to be a problem because something my wife ate at the buffet on Friday night made her so sick to her stomach that romance was not on her mind that weekend. The bathroom... more

My husband and I, along with our two dogs, stayed three nights in Barrel Cottage A1. The overall experience was positive. The cottage was much larger than expected, and we had a great view of the lake. It was rustic, but for the price (around $80/night), you can't be too picky. Our favorite features of the cabin were the deck... more

This was a great vacation place for our family. We are a family of 6 and decided to stay in a lodge room. It was not a condo, but it was still big enough. There was an additional loft area with a ladder that included two twin beds upstairs, along with the two double beds and bathroom. Next time we... more

My room was typical of many hotels, although a bit on the small side. The bathroom was definitely small, and the shower water was softened. The dispensers on the wall (probably an idea to provide more space) were weird and for sanitary reasons, not used. The bed was comfortable and the heat worked well. The lodges were not connected so... more

Our family decided to spend our Thanksgiving at the Unicoi Lodge. We had never stayed in a state park lodge and did not know quite what to expect. The Unicoi Lodge was a wonderful gem of a lodge. The lodge was filled with many warm fireplaces - all with roaring fires that kept you warm in while relaxing with a... more
