This property is unusual in the fact that there are several different buildings that house the hotel rooms. If you are more interested in using the pool, I would ask for a room closer to that, otherwise, you could end up like us walking across the lawn and parking lot to get to the pool. We visited this area in March, most things are closed but we came across this hotel on our way to visit family. They told us it had been closed for a while to remodel. It was very nice, clean. We stayed at the EconoLodge in St Ignace Labor Day weekend Sept 1-3, 2007. We had no reservations and we had our dogs and our kids with us. All the hotels that we passed said no vacancy. This was one of the nicer Econo Lodges. Rooms were clean, and It appeared to be recently redecorated. The staff was friendly, and the rates were reasonable. Breakfast was basic (coffee, juice, toast, doughnuts, and coffee cake) but adequate. It had most standard amenities, however, don't forget a hair dryer if you need one. I stayed at this hotel for a late season trip to Mackinac Island. Saint Ignace is a beautiful town... I would highly recommend it instead of Mackinac City.
