Beautiful property. We especially enjoyed having the house mostly to ourselves in the evening. The crackling fire with the sound of wind in the chimney was wonderful. I was welcome to play the grand piano in the music room and tried my first Judy Garland music, which was provided. Our suite was large and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and the... more

When we decided to stay at a B&B in Duluth, we did all of our research, we checked all local B&B's and their reputations and we felt Olcott House had by far the best. Not only that, but looking at the photos online, they had the best photos as well. We originally considered the Lake Superior Suite, the Carriage House,... more

I travel a great deal for business staying in every possible hotel chain worldwide. I was surprised at how warm and comfortable I felt at the Olcott house from the moment I walked up that beautiful front walk, past the fountain and through the majestic front door. This is an experience for the experienced - the suite were complete with... more

The Olcott House exemplifies my own dreams of an imagined and desired life- a celebrated, historic reflection of Duluth in it's own beautiful heyday. With a warm-cotton batting welcome, well-spruced with a profound dollop of old-style southern living and a sun shaded veranda porch--What a heyday! My very earthbound sons remarked on the repeated tale as a, "damned high octane... more

I love staying at the Olcott House during my one weekend off over the July Forth holiday. I sank into a comfortable Adirondack chair laid my head on the pillow and did all of my summer reading in three days. A very comfortable B&B. The breezes coming off of the lake and the fire works in the distance were sublime.... more

I stayed at the Olcott House with my family in 2 of the suites in February, and I was delighted! Duluth was very cold the days I visited, but the house was incredibly cozy and the owners were welcoming and very accomodating, including to my vegetarian diet and late night cheese craving. The suites were spacious with beautiful details (issues... more

We came to the Olcott House Bed and Breakfast for my husband's 30th birthday. Just the two of us. ( It was a suprise to him because in the past we've only stayed in hotels for such occasions.) Parking was a cinch! We pulled up right in front of the house. The hosts Jerry and David were right there to... more

Wow, what an experience! The innkeepers, David and Jerry, at the Olcott House were very friendly and welcoming into their B& B. We (my husband and I) visited on a typical Minnesota winter night, frigid and blustery. We warmed up in no time by the crackling, aromatic fire in the library. David offered a grand history of the house and... more

We stayed at The Olcott House B&B in Fall of 2007. The mansion is in a nice area of Duluth, and is easy to find. The house itself is very majestic, with brick with white columns. Parking for guests is on the street. We met one of the hosts after ringing the bell. He was not overly friendly, nor very... more

It didn’t take the new owners of the Olcott House long to step up to the plate. We ventured to Duluth on the coldest night of the year, more than a little concerned as to how warm an old mansion may be on a blistery night. The Innkeeper graciously welcomed us at the door. We were ushered in to enjoy... more
