More like a chain with the same "time share pressure:" you find in Mexico. Book early and go to any of the National Park official sites. THIS RESORT IS NOT ONE> Great location, but room, service, and "pressure" greatly overpriced. Drive down the road to St. Mary's for the true, less touristy, Glacier experience. We were overcharged and then recharged... more

Leaking toilet that refilled loudly every 15 minutes in our tiny room in the less than Motel 6 accomodations across the acre of blacktop paving from the main hotel was stopped by turning the water off, but the one next door was almost as loud. A clicking ceiling fan and sheets that didn't fit the bed added to sleep problems,... more

I should have known from my first phone call. I called the property at 3:00 p.m. to see if there were any vacancies for that night. The man at the desk said he thought there would be but that houseekeeping wasn't done with the cleaning yet so he didn't know for sure. Since check out time was 11:00, I didn't... more

We stayed at this resort in a Pinnacles Cottage. Our stay was wonderful and without a flaw. The cottages are up on a hill across from the lodge and other rooms. There are two rows of individual cottages, nicely spaced apart. There are outstanding views of Glacier Natl. Park, St. Mary Lake, and the mountains surrounding it. The cottages consist... more

It was such a bad experience I thought I was on candid camera. They booked us to the wrong room. When I booked, I asked to be in the best room they had. We ended up in a motel-6 clone. I asked to be moved. They kept saying a manager would contact me, but one never did. After 4 hours,... more

We stayed 2 nights at the St Mary Lodge. We paid high end prices for a low end room. The room had no heat, tiny window, leaking toilet and not very clean. Then they offered us a free supper to listen to their presentation to buy 30 weeks of hotel rooms for $20,000. All in all it ruined our holiday.... more

After reading the reviews on this Lodge we were very nervous about staying here. We even thought about cancelling. But, it turned out to be a great place. We stayed in Bear Lodge, the three-story building behind the Main Lobby/Lodge. Our room on the second floor overlooked the river and mountains. It was clean, new, and nicely decorated in the... more

Ah, St. Mary, Montana. All in all, I am thankful that I visited such a location. In my career it is important to have good entertaining stories to tell. And yes, just in case you were wondering, in this instance the truth was much stranger than fiction. Few writers could have dreamed up something this spectacular (Lewis Carroll may have... more

We stayed one night 8/28/08 in the West Lodge in a king room. The room was small but we were expecting that. However, it was so small they jammed the king bed next to the wall to make it fit the room. This meant I climbed over my wife whenever I needed out of bed. The room had no closet,... more

We just returned from a fabulous 4 week driving tour of [primarily] Montana and Wyoming. With very few exceptions, we had great experiences and great scenery. One of the exceptions was St. Mary Lodge. We arrived at the beautiful site of Glacier National Park, east side, to find an imposing-looking place. To begin with, I believe we were not given... more
