We spent four nights at Plumwood Inn and had the experience of our life. We have stayed in many guesthouses/B&B's over the years, but have never seen a place of such high standards. The rooms are very well appointed and highest standard in everything. The bathroom of our room was unbelievable, you wouldn't find such a bathroom even in the... more

We stayed at the Plumwood Inn for three days with our two daughters of 9 and 11. If you're planning on visiting the wine region, Franschhoek is definitely an excellent choice. It has a cosy feel to it with a main street with lots of boutiques and restaurants. A lot nicer than Stellenbosch. The Plumwood Inn is located just off... more

Once we found Plumwood Inn we were shown around the property, which actually consists of two houses separated by garden and two swimming pools, and found lovely, homely, pleasant accommodation. Our room was located in the first, larger house upstairs and it had a lovely terrace overlooking the valley and a fabulous, contemporary bathroom with huge double-ended bath, large shower... more

My wife, her parents and myself stayed here for 3 nights. We got a very nice welcome when we arrived from Hazel (not the owner). The room we stayed in was nicely decorated but a bit small. The breakfast was average with not alot of fruit & the cooked breakfasts were not great. It was a good location close to... more

Friendly welcome and a glass of wine. Pleased to organise taxi's for you. Good sized room with balcony overlooking the pool and garden which was well kept. Lovely breakfast. Nothing much to fault although we did run out of hot water the first night we arrived. Very good location for the wine area which we travelled and sampled. If you... more

We stayed for 3 nights in November when the Franschhoek weather was not at its best, although that did little to spoil our stay at Plumwood. Before we arrived Hazel had made us reservations at all the local restaurants we wanted to try (make sure you get to Bon Vivant and Bouillabaisse in particular) which was great. The guest house... more

had a fantastic 3 night break at Plumwood. Upper pool area is better and try to go for an upgraded/superior room - ours was fantastic (no 5) - great suntrap terrace and fantastic bathroom. Breakfast great, atmosphere lovely - the owners give you all the tips and help you need on the local wines and food options - but be... more

We stayed at the Plumwood Inn for 3 nights in October in one of their deluxe rooms. The room was large and well-equipped - it was almost a shame it was too hot to light the wood-burner! The bathroom was fantastic, with a bath and huge walk-in shower. Our terrace overlooking the pool was a lovely evening sun-trap. Breakfasts were... more

We had a fantastic stay at Plumwood Inn. Everything is high quality, not only the food but also furniture, bathroom. Even the staff is high quality, they are very friendly and they look cute all wearing the same clothes. The dinner was very good, Roel & Lucienne prepared traditional Southafrican food, which was a roasted butternut and red pepper soup... more

Probably the best guesthouse we've ever stayed in. The place is perfectly taken care by a youngish dutch couple who are very kind. I felt really great, wanting to spend more time at my luxurious room than in the village. The breakfast was sensational and the owners are incredibly attentive and friendly, simply it can not be improved upon. If... more
