Abu was the most amazing, enchanting place we have ever visited. First, the setting is nothing short of breathtaking with gorgeous teak decks over a lagoon that often has a wild elephant or two passing through. I have recently stayed at Abu Camp, and I have to say I loved it. The tents there are not like any tents anyone short of a multi-billionare could imagine. (Bill Gates and Paul Allen have both stayed here.) They are super luxurious, the Service is excellent, staff are kind, helpful, and very knowlegable about the area. Not to mention... more

This camp has only one thing going for it - the elephants. The tents are fine but everything else leaves quite a bit to be desired especially given the cost. The current camp managers are useless. Abu Camp provides a totally unique safari experience on elephant back. The "tented" lodge and accommodations are gorgeous and elegant, the food superb complemented by an excellent wine collection. This is probably the most expensive place I have ever and will ever stay. Was it value for money? Who knows but this place is one of a kind - just fantastic. You go to Abu to do elephant back safaris - which we did twice each day. Magical. Coming face to face with a giraffe's head is not something... more
