Our family has stayed at this hotel many times and always enjoyed the experience of the clean hotel and beautiful setting. However, when we were there this weekend, the drunken guests in the room next door ruined the visit for us. The rowdy group began returning to the room around 11:00 pm, and we put up with the noise until... more

My husband surprised me with an overnight getaway to Lake Placid for our 5 year anniversary. Knowing I am kind of picky about where we stay when on trips, he called all of the hotels in LP and decided the Golden Arrow was it. He was right. When driving up to the front of the resort, it was gorgeous-all lit... more

We live far from the adirondacks and decided to go there for my parents wedding anniversary, we planned to stay at a fancy sounding resort which turned out to be a total disaster. So we ended up at a motel with no place to go. We called around to the local hotels and stumbled upon the golden arrow. By the... more

We booked online using the Golden Arrow's own web site, and selected a "family suite". It was more expensive that the "deluxe lakefront" rooms, but we figured that it would be worth having 2 rooms given that we were staying for 3 nights and were traveling with our daughters (2 & 4 yrs old). We arrived late on a Friday... more

I am sorry to hear that you were not happy with the Adirondack Suite. Given that your stay was over 2 months ago, it is difficult for me to offer any sort of explanation for the cleanliness issues you encountered. Please know I will certainly make sure that the issues have been corrected, although since you say you mentioned them...

My husband and I stayed at the Golden Arrow Lakeside Resort 10/24/08-10/26/08. There was a hockey tournament in Lake Placid that same weekend. Adolescent hockey players were everywhere making the hotel and Lake Placid very lively and busy. Upon check in, The Golden Arrow staff were sensitive to how this might impact a couple on a romantic getaway. We were... more

We stayed in the Morningside Suite, room 401. This was a 2 bedroom suite with 2 queen beds in one room and an adjoining room with a king size bed. Finding the room was the hardest thing about the stay. The directions from the people at the front desk were unclear and we searched for the room for at least... more

That is a great suggestion, and going forward we will offer a guide to guests who are first timers in that room. The majority of guests who stay in the Morningside Suite are repeat guests who have stayed there many times before, but you are correct, for a new person who has not travelled tot he resort before, I can...

We just stayed at the Golden arrow in lake placid on Oct 8, 2008. Our room was in the hay stack. Great location and super clerk that checked us in. My disappointment came when I got into the room with a sticky and dirty bathroom floor. The new style vessel type sink was gross. the plumbers putty was left around... more

I was surprised and upset to read your review of the Haystack Specialty Room. It is one of our newest guest rooms and is in the running to become on of the most popular. Thank you so much for letting me know about this issue. I have brought it to the attention of the Executive Housekeeper who will deal with...

The Golden Arrow was perfect for us as we were driving from CT to north of Montreal and we were towing a trailer. We just wanted a one night stay. I made mention of the trailer when I made the reservation and when we got there they actually had blocked off more than enough room for our conversion van and... more

There were a lot of things we loved about this stay, and some not so much. Starting with the Pro's.... The Golden Arrow is in an excellent location. The front of the property is pretty much right in the middle of town, and there is also hotel access to the Alpine Village shops right on the main street. It was... more

Thank you for that very detailed review of our resort. I appreciate your fair and honest description of your experience. I would just like to address two points. First, the smell in the stairwell. We did receive a record amount of rain this summer which caused some minor flooding in one of our boiler room areas. That is what caused...

I called the resort directly to make my reservation. I am disabled (but not wheelchair bound). I asked about the pool area and if there were an steps. I was told -twice - that there 5 steps to the pool area. That was correct but then once the guest got down those steps there were an additional 11 steps to... more

I am so sorry that my staff did not accurately describe the entrance to the pool to you. We have 2 new Front Desk Clerks training right now, and my only explinatioin is that you must have spoken to one of them. We have all of the staff do a thurough tour of the property as part of thier training....
