Hakuna Matata Resort Date: 22nd March 2008 We had a wonderful Easter break of 4 days at Hakuna Matata. The resort is small and secluded with lovely seaviews. It's well situated for day trips to other beaches and Stonetown. We stayed in a spacious bungalow consisting of 1 bedroom plus livingroom and terrace. The food is great, which is good,... more

Hakuna Matata was the perfect climax to a wonderful honeymoon in Tanzania and Zanzibar. Rose, Fritz and the whole crew provided first class service, from the very moment we stepped into their palm fringed paradise. The view from our banda was quite simply STUNNING, and the warm waters of the Indian Ocean begged us to change into our swimming gear... more

We were looking for a quiet, relaxing place after our safari, and what we found was perfect. A lodge, situated above the sea, great overlook, lovely flowers, ruins in the middle, a ruined castle towering next; also a little bay, spanned by a beautiful bridge. Food and service very good and friendly, the owners a nice couple, who were always... more

Spent a week at the Hakuna Matata after our safaris. We were exhausted when we arrived. The management and staff were the highlights. Owners Rose and Fritz along with their chef, Thomas,, have done an amazing job of taking the ruins from "ruin" to a lovely and peaceful spot. Mohammed, the Tour Dude, gave us total non-stress times and perfect... more

We stayed in the Hakuna Matata Beach Lodge for 6 days in December and would recommend it to anybody! I travel a lot (Every continents including Antarctica in 2007…) and this has got to be one of the best places I have been to! The hotel is magically set in the ruins of a Sultan’s Palace overlooking the Indian Ocean.... more
