Glad my husband and I decided to stay here this past July. Beautiful, isolated setting, but only 10 minutes from Port McNeill. Enjoyed the wildlife, the sunsets, breakfast conversations with friendly and funny Dan. The room was not fancy, but clean and had everything we needed. So much to do nearby: whale watching, grizzly bear watching, kayaking, seaplane flights. The... more

If you are visiting North Vancouver Island a few days at Hidden Cove Lodge is a must. Dan & Sandra are two of the most welcoming hosts you could wish to meet, the scenery is breathtaking and the (very) local wildlife makes you wonder why you booked all those tours when you can just put your feet up and watch... more

We spent 4 nights at the Hidden Cove. In summary we found the lodge, Dan and Sandra—the owners, and the food to our liking. We were made to feel welcome from the time we entered the lodge until we left. The lodge was built by the owners, 17 years ago, as I recall. It was designed to be what it... more

We chose Hidden Lodge from the web for our stay in North Vancouver Island and to be close to Telegraph Cove. Within minutes of a warm greeting by the owner a Bear walked the cove and returned later with her cubs, Otters played on the jetty and Bluejays fed during our breakfast from the veranda. The view from the lodge... more

My husband and I stayed at this Bed and Breakfast in Sept 2005 for three nights when we were on a trip for bear watching. We chose this place because we wanted a remote setting, and the bear tour operator from nearby Telegraph Cove picks up guests at the Hidden Cove dock on the day of their tour. The lodge... more

The hotel is located in an isolated position with a magnificent views; you drive down a 3km unmade road to get there! while we were there a bear walked across the balcony outside the dining room! The bedroom was clean and reasonable and there was a comfortable lounge. The food was adequate but limited: no choice at breakfast. It is... more

This place is a real hidden gem! It's a shame we didn't read about this place before we went - we'd booked in to Telegraph Cove, however changed our mind when we got there (see Telegraph Cove for our review!). Luckily we'd seen a sign for Hidden Cove Lodge on the way to Telegraph Cove, and it said Vacancies. 10... more

This place was the experience of a lifetime! We stayed for three nights and loved every minute. A long gravel track leads to the lodge which is sat in its own cove. Surrounded on three sides by the forest, with breathtaking views across the water to Malcolm Island. The lodge has a pontoon, where boats can be moored. The lodge... more

Don't even think about staying at Telegraph Cove, do yourself a favour and stay here. We enjoyed 3 fantastic nights with my wife and I being the only guests for two of them. 3km down a gravel road gives you an idea of the tranquility of the place but only an idea. We were enthusiastic to see local wildlife and... more

Enjoyed a week of peace and tranquility. Be prepared for isolation! And too many eagles to count. No bears in the late winter, but lots of deer. The Kirbys are pleasant hosts, too. more
