This is a quick note to let you know the challenges that we are currently facing as we try to put our wedding details to bed and concentrate on other important issues pertaining to our special day. Please note that the wedding will only take place next year, so we have not actually stayed there yet, but my parents have... more

This was our second visit to the Manor House over the past three years and was booked to celebrate my wifes 40th birthday. We had previously stayed in the Mews and this time booked a room in the main house called Lords Mere. To my mind this was a mistake.Although the room was quite stunning on first impressions, once you looked a... more

Stayed one night in a cottage called Little Gubbins. Thought we would splash out a bit as down for a wedding - in hindsight would of been better in a local B&B. Driving up to the hotel is beautiful, electric gates and you start getting really excited. Met by doorman who was charming, checked in easily. Let to dark, shabby... more

My husband and I have just returned from a two night stay at the Manor House hotel. Service at breakfast was not a problem. Staff were friendly, courteous and efficient throughout our stay. We had evening meal on Monday which was in the very elegant dining room of the hotel. Food was delicious, our compliments to the chef. Our only... more

My husband and I have stayed at the Manor House on 2 occasions, last December and July this year, both for 1 night. The first time, we stayed in one of the cottages, which we loved - great bath! The second time in the main house. Although the bedroom was lovely and large, we preferred the cottage. Cleanliness was a... more

The drive to the hotel certainly had the wow factor. The Reception, valet and general service were good. The view from our bedroom window in the main house also had the wow factor - and there it ended. Our room - Fosscote - was, in a word, shabby. The two armchairs had threadbare patches on the arms and across the... more

After reading the reviews and seeing the hotel website we thought this would be an ideal place to stay for our wedding anniversary. We booked a junior suite and were allocated a cottage which was small, very dark and claustrophobic. We asked to be moved to the main building and were put into a much bigger, brighter room, with a... more

I have stayed at Castle Combe four times now and stayed here twice and stayed at the Castle Inn twice. Both are great places to stay but are very different. This review covers the Manor House. The entrance is through an electric gates at the bottom of the town, once through you know the stay will be special , the... more
