My husband and I are frequent visitors of this tucked away gem in the heart of Shadyside. The atmosphere at the Inn on Negley is so serene--it is easy to leave all your worries behind once you cross the threshold. The plaster work on the first floor is amazing--the plaster moldings on the ceiling in the dining room are spectacular.... more

We stayed at the Inn on Negley for 3 nights so that we could visit Pittsburgh. The Inn is very nice and comfortable (We had the Granny Smith Room). Although 2 of the 3 days we were there some of the rooms on the ground floor (dining rooms) had been rented out to non guests for which was a suprise... more

We stayed at the Inn on Negley, in April 2008 and again in June, after staying in a couple of other Select Registry Inns. On our first visit we were seeking a luxurious hotel with excellent service that would allow us to escape very hectic, demanding jobs. The inn surpassed all expectations. We stayed in the Empire Suite. It is... more

I stayed at the Inn (actually called the Appletree on some of their signs) at the recommendation of Carnegie Mellon University while my child was at a CM program. I filled out the Inn's online reservation form to find out what the CM discount was, since the Unversity's materials indicated that the Inn gave a discount. The reservation form also... more

My wife and I stayed at the inn for two nights in early July and were we ever surprised. We had never been to Pittsburgh and didn't know what to expect. We chose the Inn on Negley because of the reviews here and the location (close to museums and Phipps Conservatory). The room was very nicely decorated and comfortable. The... more

Frequent business trips to Pittsburgh have provided me the opportunity to try four to six hotels/B&B's in area .Going forward, The Inn on Negley wil be the only place I stay. My bedroom was very large ,with beautiful furniture and what seemed to be twelve foot ceilings. My bathroom was as modern(and comfortable ) as might be found in a... more

Stayed on the third floor in the sumptuous Empire suite. Four poster king-sized bed, large fireplace and chandelier all in the room. The art on the walls was splendid as was the beautiful Victorian furniture that adorned the room. The bathroom was as big as some hotel rooms I have stayed in. That's not all. The breakfasts were out of... more

We stayed on the third floor in small suite. It's two flights up but nothing exhausting. The first cozy little room has a couch, chair, tables and a TV. The bedroom may be separated by French doors if one of you wants to rest and the other wants to watch TV. The bed is high, the linens, good. There was... more

Pittsburgh Pa. The Inns on Negley My wife and I spent four nights at the Inn early December 2006. We travel to Pittsburgh twice a year and usually stay at a hotel downtown in the Cultural District. However, this time we wanted to try something closer to the Universities. This trip was for both business and pleasure. Our stay at... more

What a find! The rooms are totally perfect, lots of space and beautifully appointed . Comfortable beds with great sheets, flat screen tvs..And the breakfasts-to die for. And the neighborhood is perfect-walking distance to restaurants and shops and 5 minutes from CMU. I loved this place so much that I already reserved a room for my husband when he comes... more
