We just returned from Ireland and our favorite stay by far was Glin Castle. Arriving early on a wet and dreary afternoon, the staff immediately lit a fire in the drawing room for us and brought us tea. I had stayed at Glin Castle a few years ago while in Ireland on business and could not wait for my husband... more

We only stayed one night at the castle, but it was truly a memorable stay! We felt that we had to stay at least one night in a castle while in Ireland to get the full Irish experience and after reading through the various options on TA, chose this castle (for its price and intimacy). By the way, we stopped... more

I have stayed at and visited Glin Castle a number of times since I first made its acquaintance years ago. The castle is filled with centuries of history, magnificent plasterwork, and the finest collection of 18th century and paintings. This is the ancestral home of the Knight of Glin and what a treat it is to be his "guest"! The... more

We booked the Castle room. On arrival 2 staff greeted us in a friendly enough manner and immediately took us on a short general tour. My concerns started from what I saw. Downstairs rooms appeared small because of clutter with too much furniture, crockery, and what have you to the point in my opinion of eccentricity, even for a castle... more

Glin Castle always appreciates honest criticsm if found and appropriate. Some of the concerns of the reviewer have been rectified, and as they should be. We would never be so brazen as to think that Glin appeals to everybody - it would be a strange world if it did. However we are delighted that the highest proportion of our guests...

We booked a night here after reading all the wonderful reviews online. Glin lives up to the wonderful reviews and surpasses them! A truly magical place with excellent service, amazing historical rooms, lovely garden, grounds and more. We didn't want to leave! We truly felt like royalty staying at Glin. Just when we thought things couldn't get any better, the... more

My wife and I had a wonderful experience at the Glin Castle. The entire property was beautiful and well maintained. The staff was very professional and personal. The two meals we had in their dining room were outstanding, and very creative. more

When we arrived, it was better than I had imagined. Booking everything online, I really had nothing to go on but pictures and TA reviews. We had only booked for one night, we were on a budget and we had only budgeted for 2 nicer accomidations during our 2 week trip. The property was so beautiful and we immediately started... more

Everything positive that can be said about lodging and meals would apply to Glin Castle. The grounds and garden are magnificient. Bob Duff was wonderful in helping us celebrate a friend's 60th birthday. The dinner, while pricey, was superb. The service of the staff and the incredible room in which we stayed left nothing to be desired. more

You know you are going to treated to a very special time when you drive through the gates of Glin. It is simply lovely. The tree lined drive works its magic to melt the stress away. It is unassuming when you approach - the entrance belies what is waiting. While it is not one of the largest castle/hotels (we have... more

Glin Castle is a true historic treasure. This hotel is not for everyone and I'm serious. If you enjoy history and a feeling of owning an estate in Ireland with an amazing staff this is the place to stay. A Georgian Masterpiece with a feeling of home. The castle is in the country, about 32 miles south of Limerick City... more
