A group of girlfriends and I recently stayed at the Downtown Memphis Mariott while we ate and kicked up our heels in Memphis. We had rooms on the 17th floor, and the views of the city and the river are great from up there. Check-in was a little bumpy at first. (The elevators were temporarily on the fritz, AND the... more

We liked this hotel! We stayed here for two nights and made use of the pool, restaurant and bar during our stay. It was easy to find and check-in was smooth. The pool area was perhaps a little dated but it did provide a welcome relief from the (so we were told) exceptional heat for the time of year. All... more

OK hotel quite reasonale rates but needs a facelift. Good location and Memphis Tram stop being outside is a godsend. Rooms ok, breakfast area & Bar very bland and swimming Pool area a complete waste of space and very dated, I though I was in the Ukraine for a few minutes when I saw the pool area. Easy to find... more

My wife, two year old son and I were concluding our road trip by staying 2 nights at the Downtown Marriott. Location off the freeway was easy to find. Valet parking and luggage handling was a joy after 6 hours of driving. Check in was smooth. Room, well, it was tiny. King bed with the wonderful revive sheets and comfy... more

We just attended a conference @ the Memphis Marriott downtown, March 26 - 30, 2008. The hotel was full or nearly full and the staff was probably a little stressed out because of this but I did not have one single encounter with anyone that worked at this hotel that was anything but professional and friendly. The staff at the... more

This was a nice hotel, well located on the trolley line. However, it was very expensive and they charge for internet both in room and in the business center--outrageous this day an age. Some great things were free laundry and a nice fitness center and pool. The parking was very expensive, too. more

We were here for a convention and have been in the past. It's a nice enough hotel. The front door people were always very nice. Front desk were helpful once they helped you. Twice I stood waiting while they talked amongst themselves. The bar at the hotel is slow. It seems they are always understaffed, this hasn't change from year... more

The staff were great and checked me in quickly. I was assigned to the 19th floor. You might think it would be quiet, but it was a bit noisy. Nothing one could do because it was the hotel guests who were slamming doors and coughing like crazy. Otherwise, the facilities were great; the room was cozy and the bed was... more

The first room they gave us was a non-smoking room that smelled of stale cigarette smoke. They did give us another room promptly. The concierge room was closed due to deep cleaning so that was a disappointment. The staff was helpful when we were looking for places to eat. The internet ($12 a day) did not work in our room... more
