We just attended a conference @ the Memphis Marriott downtown, March 26 - 30, 2008. The hotel was full or nearly full and the staff was probably a little stressed out because of this but I did not have one single encounter with anyone that worked at this hotel that was anything but professional and friendly. The staff at the... more

This was a nice hotel, well located on the trolley line. However, it was very expensive and they charge for internet both in room and in the business center--outrageous this day an age. Some great things were free laundry and a nice fitness center and pool. The parking was very expensive, too. more

We were here for a convention and have been in the past. It's a nice enough hotel. The front door people were always very nice. Front desk were helpful once they helped you. Twice I stood waiting while they talked amongst themselves. The bar at the hotel is slow. It seems they are always understaffed, this hasn't change from year... more

The staff were great and checked me in quickly. I was assigned to the 19th floor. You might think it would be quiet, but it was a bit noisy. Nothing one could do because it was the hotel guests who were slamming doors and coughing like crazy. Otherwise, the facilities were great; the room was cozy and the bed was... more

The first room they gave us was a non-smoking room that smelled of stale cigarette smoke. They did give us another room promptly. The concierge room was closed due to deep cleaning so that was a disappointment. The staff was helpful when we were looking for places to eat. The internet ($12 a day) did not work in our room... more

I came into town for an interview, so this hotel was chosen for me by my prospective employer. The service was great. I was on the 3rd floor, so I didn't have a very good view. The room was very nice and clean. Bed was very comfortable. But for this price, a microwave & fridge in the room would be... more

I stayed here for a convention and booked through the organization. We live here in Memphis, but it was our anniversary and we wanted to party on Beale Street and not have to drive home. We were on the 9th floor and had only a view of a small park which was fine. Be forewarned that the pool, gym, sauna... more

Stayed for business, there were many issues: 1. dirty bath, broken closet, coffee pot not cleaned, etc not remedied despite requests - the room was shabby 2. computers in business center frequently not functioning 3. as a Marriott member, was told I was upgraded to the concierge level...it has been closed however I was not informed. 4. exercise center and... more
