Firstly, apologies to Kay for taking so long to write this review. Volcano village was the second destination of our 3-week honeymoon. Following the hectic wedding and long flight getting to Hawaii, Kay's place was just what we needed. Our earlier days spent at Waikoloa were lovely, but the peace and serenity at Kay's was just what we needed to... more

My wife and I stayed at the Volcano Village Lodge on our honeymoon. It was definitely one of the highlights of our trip. This quaint, hip Bed and Breakfast is located in the rain forest a quick drive to Volcano National Park. You are surrounded by vegetation and feel secluded. The staff was incredibly attentive to every detail of our... more

It has taken me a long time to post this review (we took our honeymoon in January 2008), perhaps because I don't know where to begin! We loved our stay at Volcano Village Lodge! We also enjoyed our time on Oahu and Maui, but the highlight of our two week vacation was definitely our stay at VVL. We noted that... more

My husband and I stayed here for the first four nights of our honeymoon. It was wonderful! If you are looking for relaxation, privacy, and a little seclusion this is the place to stay. Kay was wonderful and even made appointments for us to get in room massages. I would really recommend this! The daily breakfast was wonderful and always... more

This lodge/guest chalets are in a dense rainforest setting and they are certainly well crafted but I have to say we were a bit surprised to spend close to $300 for 2 adults / 1 child ( w/ taxes ) for a night. Despite the pretty woodwork - I couldn't help but think of all the beautiful places in lovely... more

This was an excellent B&B located about 1 mile from the entrance to the Volcano park. The facility was very accommodating and the grounds were well maintained. The interior of the bedrooms and bath were spotless. The exterior grounds were well maintained and the food was quite good. The facility was quiet in the evenings. All the rooms were saw... more

Our family (parents and children ages 24, 20 and 16) just spent two nights at Volocano Village Lodge. Easily found on GPS. We agree it is a great place to stay. Our every need was anticipated. Flashlights and binoculars (which come in handy at the lava flow view AND in Volcano National Park) were in the room with extra batteries.... more

I hate to write this review because Kay is wonderful and the lodge is almost perfect, but I felt I had to give my opinion as to why the lodge is not quite there. My husband and I stayed for 3 nights in the Mauna Kea room. Perhaps if we stayed in a different room we would have truly loved... more

My family and I had a wonderful stay in Mauna Loa room/cabin - it was one of the highlights of our trip to Hawaii. We were troublesome guests and the owner Kay was very kind in catering to our needs - she even made some special wheat-free food for my mom who has celiac disease! The atmosphere is so nice... more

I travel a lot for business and have stayed in some of the nation's best hotels. This magical place outshines them all. The space is created with the greatest care and is designed to promote relaxation, peace and appreciation. You are surrounded by beautiful landscape, the rooms are immaculate and offer astonishing views, and the lovely food basket is prepared... more
