My wife and I recently stayed at The Fairmont and The Grand Wailea in Maui for business purposes in 2007, but our home away from home is The Kuleana. We were married on the pristine grounds in April 2006 by a native Hawaiian Priestess and after the ceremony we extended our one week stay by 2 days. That is our... more

The Kuleana was a near perfect stay for us. The grounds were in full bloom and the flowers were stellar. We also loved having the pool so close to our wonderful - fully equipped space. We really enjoy cooking our own food and found the kitchen facilities to be adequate and complete. In addition there are BBQ's available at no... more

We were treated abominably by the resident managers within one hour of our arrival. They were red-faced with rage and were highly unkind and unprofessional. What was our crime? We had the misfortune of renting the unit above theirs, #318. Our first night we had our relative and her one year old baby over for a planned cook out. The... more

Our folks own 4 weeks here, and we have been staying here every couple of years, since the mid 90's. Not fancy, but if I want the best and latest I will go to one of the big resorts. I love sitting on the lanai, reading the paper and watching the whales and turtles. I can go boogie boarding in... more

Stayed in unit 206 --- We have stayed here numerous times! This particular unit is updated, has A/C, and a gorgeous view of the ocean (and whales)! It can sleep up to 6, although we have only been with 4 of us ! It is great for families and groups. It is close to the road but we love how... more

All of the Condos in Kahana and Napalii were built in the 1970's. Some are more updated than others, but they are all pretty similar. The Kuleana has a nice location, good parking and a small beach. I did a Timeshare exchange. The 30 Timeshare units are furnished the same. They have tile floors and new appliances. The Queen bed... more

We booked thru vrbo. Unit 616, it was very nice, super close to the water, at most 25 feet. The condo itself was spacious enough for 2 people. 1 bedroom/1bath. Sparkling clean, with all amenities if you wanted to cook, even a grill on the lanai. There were books to borrow in the lobby, plus games, tennis, and a huge... more

I have stayed in my unit 6 times in the past 2 years and have never heard loud music.I must admit I have found it very peaceful and serene except for the sounds of the waves in front and in the bedroom.I found it very helpful to fall asleep with the waves in the back ground. I have replaced the...

Kuleana is situated in a great location especially it's fantastic oceanfront. We had the opportunity to swim daily with sea turtles and a fantastic array of tropical fish. The ocean is no more than 50 yards from any room at the Kuleana. I thought I wouldn't survive without AC but found the trade winds were both cooling and relaxing. Beautiful... more

Traded a week with RCI for this condo. They say the resort is in Lahania but it is west of Kanappali Beach and closer to Kapalua. Our condo was unit #511 which was a 1 bedroom with a murphy bed in the living room. The units are not air-conditioned so you have to run fans. We slept in the murphy... more

We rented 4 units for 5 days (4 couples) and were expecting the units to be similar. Wrong some units had updated floors, kitchens and bathrooms, newer furniture etc. and the unit myself and another couple were in units 711 & 722 were old, dirty and had bugs in the kitchen. It was a very nice location, nice grounds, no... more
