This is the second year we've stayed at Papakea in A 202. It's the fifth time we've stayed at Papakea overall. It's a great place for us! It has beautiful mature grounds with some of the biggest koi we've ever seen. We prefer a quieter property with the ammenities that are most important to us. That includes a nice pool... more

This was our first trip ever to Hawaii. I expected it to be a bit like the southern CA area with the beauty of palm trees and exotic flowers and plants. We were most definitely surprised by Maui's utmost beauty. We spent 11 marvelous days. We stayed in the ocean front condos in a corner unit and it was gorgeous!... more

We had a wonderful 12 day stay at the Papakea. The condo was comfortable and clean. We had an awesome ocean view. We have recommended the Papakea to several friends and we look forward to another trip to Maui and another stay at the Papakea. more

The room we stayed in was only feet from the crashing waves, with only grass between our door and the water. The room itself was fine. The furniture and decor were nothing to write home about, but the point of this place is the view. The grounds of the Papakea are nice. The BBQ's that are available for anyone to... more

That view is terrific. The unit itself overall is not worth the money. The chairs in the living room are not good for the back if you sit in them very long. The one foot stool is torn and dirty. The pull-out bed is too thin and coily - our son couldn't sleep on it - he choose the couch... more

Our stay at the Papakea was very nice. I would rate the surrounding property as excellent. It is spacious, neat and peaceful. Condo: We had a 4th floor ocean front unit - it was pretty, but needed a lot of TLC. The fridge didn't work and was finally replaced on our 6th day. The sleeper sofa was about 5 years... more

Stayed there for 6 nights and had the best time! Our room had direct access to the garden, the pool and the beach. The rooms were very clean, the hotel was calm, and they solved a little problem we had with our room almost instantly, and even gave us a box of macadamia nuts for the inconvenience! more

First of all, everyone who rates this place negatively must have unattainable standards. Who cares what color the carpet is or the date of the art on the walls? For goodness sake, it's Maui outside! You're not going to be spending much time indoors anyway. Our room was newly renovated and looked very nice. It was very clean and was... more

We used a package deal that included airfare and studio condo for a week. The unit we had was B103. The location was great because we looked out into the beautiful flowers surrounding the pool. The side view from the lanai was of the ocean and Moloka'i. We loved the ocean breezes at night and enjoyed sitting out on the... more

If you like a musty, dingy, dim/dark place to stay in paradise, then this is it. The dark outdoor hallway to our condo was carpeted (?!) and smelled of cat urine. Our "accomodations" boasted cheap cabinetry, a popcorn ceiling, mirrored walls, and emerald green carpeting (which was 1/4 water-soaked by recent rains - we told the mgmt right after checking... more
