I was traveling in a group going to a 49ers game. The trip was organized by a travel agent, so I had no influence on which hotel we would stay at. I always check Trip Advisor before traveling and did so this time, too. I was terrified by the reviews, but also puzzled that reviews were almost always either 'Terrible'... more

This Hotel reminded me of old Hotels I stayed in Europe 30 years ago. I did not do my research before booking the Renoir but it was better than I expected. The room was fairly large and airy wth two large windows . The bathroom was big with shower over a large bath but there was paint peeling off the... more

The nicest thing I can say about this place is that it was fairly clean. The outside of the hotel is surrounded by homeless people. Once we were in the room the hot water took about five minutes to heat up. The hot water never even worked in the sink. Forget about sleeping if your room faces the street. There... more

We booked in this hotel for three nights but stayed only one! The hotel has aged since the photo's were taken for their brochure almost 20 years ago! Windows frames in the room were rotten and were dangerous for our small child - no bar facility, no food facility, grubby reception area and lifts broken and not to mention the... more

When we first arrived at the hotel we did not feel very safe. The street we drove down was very run down and there were big african american people yelling at each other. The lobby of the hotel was ok, but the couches were extreamly dirty and did not look like they had had a clean in centuries. The staff... more

We stayed here for three nights at the end of our three week USA trip. We were two families with 5 young kids between us and frankly everything, including the location, was fine. The staff were excellent and the rooms clean and functional. As for the location, when you first arrive you notice the people on the street, but you... more

We stayed here for nearly a week. The room was quite old but clean. The loacation was quite scary lots of homeless people and dodgy men who offered us drugs on the way home. The porno cinema opposite provided a nice view from the room. San Fransisco is amazing and the hotel did not in any way spoil this. I... more

Having just spent two weeks at the Renoir, I would not advise anyone with children to stay there. Whilst i agree that the staff are good and helpful it does not make up for the area it is in, or the state of the actual hotel. The hotel itself needs an update and a makeover, the carpets stink. My room... more

First of all sorry for my English that is not very good. I and my wife went to a trip to west USA and Canada for 37 days. In this wonderful trip we accommodated 27 hotels and motels, three of them were booked in advance by our travel agent. For the Renoir hotel we paid for 3 nights $450. I... more
