Traveled to Boston on business and stayed one night with my daughter who lives in Boston. Great location, easy pull up and drop your car off for valet parking. Convenient, quick check in and very courteous service. Great bright colored room with wonderful old architectural details. Fabulous Boston garden view and at night the skyline is spectacular. Had a higher... more

Stayed here recently for a wedding and had a lovely stay. The location is phenomenal in the heart of Back Bay and our room had a great view of the Public Garden. Be sure to ask for a room with a view. I found the staff attentive and friendly. Check in and checkout were easy. As some others have reported,... more

Ok, the title would lead one to think I didn't enjoy my stay - au contraire! It's just that, beyond changing the name and adding some copper fringe to the outdoor canopies, nothing has changed here since it was the Ritz Carlton - the OLD Ritz Carlton. I can understand not wanting to fiddle with a classic, but it's almost... more

My boyfriend and I spontaneously booked the Taj, litererally, last minute via hotels.com. We were eating lunch on Boylston Street and decided we wanted to stay in the city for the evening...While at lunch we used the trusty iPhone and had our stay booked at the Taj, 5 minutes later we walked around the corner and checked in at this... more

Business trip to Boston at the Taj. Our room was clean and was fine for one night. Bathroom is small but because it's an older hotel that was the way they were built. We were on the 9th floor with a great view of the public garden. Lobby is very small with very few chairs for sitting. A short walk... more

First, let me say that I use Trip Advisor constantly for all of my business and personal trips. I travel quite frequently, so I know what constitutes a good hotel, and this one was great! Pros: LOCATION: it is right smack dab in the middle of the action at downtown Boston. It is directly across the street from the beautiful... more

someone needs to put some money into this hotel. Rooms are really tired. Bathrooms are old ...particularly in the "new" wing. This was one of the old Ritz Carltons in town and they did not do a very good renovation and the new owners have done nothing. Plus the halls are dirty...I have never seen such filth in the hallways... more

This Taj Hotel is very disappointing. I booked on the Internet and when I arrived to check in, was told that they had no record of my booking! I was asked to go to the Business Center in the hotel and to print out my reservation confirmation! I did this and presented the confirmation details and was then checked in.... more

Booked our "club" room for our 25th anniversary, directly with the hotel (for 6 nights)...and 2 months in advance! On arrival April 10, we were placed in a room next to the tiny kitchen of the club lounge...which looks over the gardens. Didn't think much of the small room and the "ridiculously small, one person" bathroom, but the following morning,... more

For me, this hotel ranks as one of the very best I have ever stayed in anywhere. It happens I also got an amazing rate. But, even at their rack rates, everything about the place (except, I must note, its lobby, which does not have much sitting-and-people-watching space) is top class. The staff does all it can to anticipate and... more
