I booked this hotel for the location and positive TripAdvisor reviews, and very glad I did. Because some reviews mentioned freeway noise, I requested the "quiet side" of the hotel, and was happy to receive a room facing away from Highway 163. We were also upgraded to an Executive room with a balcony at no extra charge. The balcony isn't... more

Absolutely loved the whole experience. Of course there were positives & negatives just like any other hotel, but overall very satisfied! Positives: directly across the street from trolley station (paid $12 for a three day pass that got us unltd trolley & bus and we went all over), located in a nice quiet area, incredibly friendly and helpful staff (really... more

My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon. We wanted to stay at a nice hotel with a few amenities like a spa, restaurant, etc. We arrived early so were not upset when our room wasn't ready. They gave us warm cookies and we waited in the lobby. The room was pretty standard but very clean and professional. The... more

We were a family of 15 (including 7 young children) who stayed here for 4 nights. Although the hotel is a little tired and the bathrooms are in need of refurbishment, the staff made our stay so enjoyable. I would especially like to pay tribute to Kirk on the front desk. What a delightful young man. We all had a... more

Booked 2 nights stay while touring USD with our college bound daughter. I prefer to stay at four star hotels where available. After much web searching, reading reviews, etc, I decided not to stay downtown (not in the partying stage of life now!) due to noise and bars. For me all areas of San Diego are a short drive so... more

After reading all of the positive reviews on this property, I was very excited to stay here. My husband was attending a conference downtown and I was working out of our La Jolla office. When I called the hotel to confirm the location, they assured me that they were a 10 minute trolley ride to the convention center. How crazy... more

The hotel was clean and comfortable and I cannot fault the helpfulness of the staff. However I had stayed the previous week at the OMNI hotel in LA and for the 200 pounds per week more that I paid I was expecting a lot more for my money. The lobby is nicely decorated but i found the room a bit... more

Myself husband and 16yr old son stayed at the Double tree Hotel in Misson Valley San Diego for Spring Break. From the time I checked in at the front desk the staff was extremely helpful accomodating and very friendly. Our room was not ready and we were promptly called when it was. The service was top-notch. Everytime I called for... more

Just returned from 3 day stay at the Doubletree Mission Valley. The staff was the nicest, most helpful, even fun, of any hotel we have ever stayed in - the front desk, the maid service and the wait staff at breakfast. Our daughter and our sister-in-law brought their dogs. There were dog treats for them and of course, their famous... more

Stayed for three nights at the Doubletree and was in no way disappointed. The room good and the bed extremely comfortable. The bathroom like the rest of the room was clean and spacious. The room had a small balcony and it was nice to wake up in a morning and step out as the sun was coming up, while drinking... more
