The Marriott Gaslamp is a well-run hotel in all aspects. However, it is rather expensive -- even for a quality chain hotel. This hotel has everything the business traveler needs and then some. The complex is enormous, with restaurants, shops, gym, etc. -- you'd never really need to leave the hotel except right outside the door is the fabulous gas lamp district with great food, bars & shopping. on the other side of the hotel is the harbor and a running/bike path.... more

My stay at this hotel was a pleasant experience. The staff was friendly and attentive, the building was new and very well kept. The rooms were spacious and well furnished and the bathrooms were really quite large. The view from the upper floors is very good and it is also very quiet on these floors.
