We stayed in the "nicest room" for a week (May 16-23rd '08.) I grew up in this Pacific Beach & was visiting for the first time in 15 years. My main priority when chooseing this hotel was #1 price, #2 proximity to the Beach (i'm not a pool person). 1st: Our initial surprise was the NO A/C since it was... more

My boyfriend and I spent 4 nights at this hotel at then end of last month. The hotel is right on the beach, close to restaurants and bars. The price of this hotel is very reasonable and I would recommend it to anyone visiting San Diego. Despite what others say its very easy to get around San Diego without a... more

We recently stayed at the Diamond Head for five nights with our two year old. We booked a promotional rate on the website and ended up paying $69/night, an unbelievable price considering the amenities, neighborhood and proximity to the beach. We requested a one bedroom suite and mentioned that we would be two adults and one child. They accomodated us... more

We were very surprised with this little wonder. We stayed at The Diamond Head Inn last weekend and for the price and location I would say it's tough to beat for something so close to the beach. Parking is not that bad if you know when most of the surfers come and go. We got a great spot and walked... more

We stayed here for 5 days and found it very decent. Our room overlooked the beach and boardwalk. It was cleaned well every day, had a small kitchenette with the basics. Close to shopping, eateries and bars. Parking can be a problem but you can park for free 2 blocks away at a sister hotel. more

we got into town late after 9:00 pm and were looking for a place to stay. our local favorites were either booked or $275-$440 a night. so we stopped at the Diamond Head Inn and spoke to the night manager who was waiting for some guests to show up. they were all booked up except for the arriving late arrivals.... more

As previous posts stated, this place is in a great location: turn left and the promenade is right there! Pacific Beach in winter was pleasant, not crowded but not deserted. The bed was comfy, and there was extra seating and an old style banquette in the kitchen area. Small bathroom and a tub that needed reglazing, but it was all... more

We had a one bedroom suite with kitchenette. What a great location!! So good there were never any parking spaces. I noticed there were cars parked for the hotel that never left the entire time we were there (work trucks etc). Would lead me to believe there were residents in the neighborhood using the lot. As we had to wake... more

We visit San Diego several times a year and always stay at Diamond Head Inn. We love having a kitchenette plus being so close to the boardwalk. The rooms are large and convenient to places in the area. Walking the board walk is a must both for exercise and experiencing the "culture". GThere are great restaurants along the way plus... more

We were happy with the room we got for the money we paid. We had a 1-bedroom appartment with kitchenette right over the office. The maids even cleaned our dishes which we didn't expect them to do. We stayed for one week and we knew that Pacific Beach is the area of the college student and surfer crowd, so if... more
