Took my boyfriend to Gettysburg Labor Day weekend as his birthday present. Doubleday Inn was his first B&B stay. B&B is right on the battlefield overlooking Day 1 of the battle. The Inn is very quaint and clean. The innkeepers were very pleasant and comfortable to interact with (not too many B&B rules!). Our room was the Iverson - -... more

We just loved the Doubleday Inn. The location was perfect for the battlefield tours and the Inn itself was very tranquil and peaceful. The breakfasts were excellent and the hosts were just wonderful-whats not to like ? We would recommend this location to anyone wanting to get away from it all and just focus on the historical battle of Gettysburg... more

A wonderful Bed and Breakfast! From the moment we walked in the front door we knew we had found something very special. The Innkeepers, Christine and Todd are friendly and helpful. Each room is supplied with a courtesy copy of the Battlefield car audio tour CD which is extremely helpful. No need to pay for one which is very nice.... more

We are still traveling but wanted to post our review of the Doubleday Inn right away. We stayed at the Inn for two nights in the Cutler room and couldn't have been happier with our accomodations. The B & B is in a beautiful location right on the battlefield auto tour route. You can enjoy the sunrise coming up over... more

Let me just tell you that when all of my girlfriend and her friends said that we were staying at a bed and breakfast the men and I looked at each other and then said "we are not staying at a bed and breakfast." Well, of course the girls won the fight and there we went. Well, let me tell... more

The Doubleday Inn is the most quiet and peaceful place we have ever stayed. There is a reverence for the battlefield as this place overlooks it in three directions. The views are pristine and we enjoyed reading and having afternoon cookies in the garden and on the deck before going out to dinner. Todd and Christine are outstanding innkeepers. The... more

Ok, I am finally paying off my karmic debt here...I use TA all the time to plan trips but have never bothered to write my own review before. I am doing so now because I used this site extensively to plan a surprise Gettysburg weekend for my wife. The info on the Doubleday Inn was very accurate and we had... more

The Doubleday Inn is very cozy and Christine and Todd make you feel like you are right at home. Very quiet location. I stayed in the O'Neal room which was perfect. Enjoyed sitting outside in the back yard, sipping tea in the evening and again in the morning watching the sunrise. Breakfast was delicious. My stay here enhanced my first... more

It was a bit cold when I stayed here in Feb., but I loved sitting in the living room sipping on hot tea. The picture window in the living room looks directly out onto the first day's battlefield. For my money, no inn in Gettysburg has a better view. The innkeepers, Todd, Christine, and Molly, are wonderful, friendly and knowledgeable... more
