The "chateau" is a joke (and a very expensive one at that)! See the earlier reviews by weedqueen and scubamom. They nailed it. We checked TripAdvisor before booking but failed to page back beyond the most recent 10 or so "reviews". There is NOTHING French about this inn except for a few 10-year-old magazines and books. The gentleman who helped... more

This was the first time that we stayed on a B&B. Our son made the reservation as a mother's day gift so we do not know what to expect when we got in. The owner called my son two days before to confirm and to know what time were plan to arrive. When we got in, we were greeted by... more

We went to this B&B for a culinary retreat to celebrate a birthday and had a lovely time. The inn is comfortable and warm - gas fireplaces in practically every room make it quite cozy. We had a private 4 course dinner cooking lesson with a chef from CIA and had a great time - and learned a lot. We've... more

We found this to be one of the most serene and comfortable B & B's we have ever stay in. It is classy without being precocious. the scenery is absolutely beautiful, the food excellent and the inn keeper / owner warm and friendly without hovering. more

We were on a bike trip from Baton Rouge, LA to Halifax, Nova Scotia and found this French style gem near the Hudson River, just off the bike trip route. We were given a wonderful welcome by the Inn's host Valerie and shown to our comfortable room, I really liked the chez lounge and the great sleeping bed. However the... more

A quiet winter retreat, comfortable and friendly. We especially liked the view of the pond as we ate a delicious breakfast. The food extras (wine, cheese plate, homemade cookies & truffles) were a nice feature, something you don't find everywhere. Only a few rooms so there's not a feeling of overcrowding. Fireplaces in the dining room and bedroom were a... more

It's always a pleasure to meet someone who has saved an oldie from the wrecking ball and turned it onto a B&B. This "chateau" was no exception. Built in the early 1900s, it has all the charm we were hoping for, including some slanted floors. We were greeted by a cordial young gentleman who not only carried our bags for... more

I've stayed in a quiet country inn near the Culinary Institute of America, President Roosevelt 's Home and Library, Eleanor Roosevelt's Val-Kill cottage, the Vanderbilt Estate and the Hudson River. This B&B offers a lovely site secluded by trees with a huge pond with an island. The breakfast breads baked by CIA students onsite and a glass of wine by... more

What's not to like? I have to admit, I have never liked the idea of a staying at a bed and breakfast, sort of like spending the night with several strangers, which you are. Notwithstanding, the ambience was relaxing and vacation-like. They have a strong connection to all things French and that adds to the charm. Not forcing it on... more

The inn was very cute. I have read the other reviews and can not understand why these people felt that way. The inn is located on a wonderful property. There is a beautiful lake, wonderful Christmas tree farm, and very close to great restaurants (CIA & Twist). The rooms are very comfortable with a fire place. Breakfast was great, cooked... more
