If you travel to Savannah, don't buy the line you've got to stay near the historic downtown area. And DON'T stay at the Gateway Inn on 11520 Abercorn (Hwy 204) near the shopping malls. Bad points: Shower head broken, didn't stay up; no one there to fix it. No towel rack and no toilet paper holder - both broken. Hair... more

When I entered the office, staff were very friendly and compassionate to my needs. I requested a non smoking room, KING with refrigerator on the lower floor near the pool, and I got everything I had asked for. The rooms were just outfitted with new carpet ( I love that new carpet smell, makes the room smell new), new furniture,... more

Great (and quiet) place to stay if you can find it. In walking minutes from several eateries in the vicinity. Had a little situation (and only one small complaint) upon checking into room. The water pressure for the toilet was not on. But Room service responded quickly to a frantic traveler's, "no water in the toilet." Since I now KNOW... more

Office staff were very kind and friendly compared to the hotel I stayed at the night before. The parking lot was well lit, room was clean and smelled nice. Office kept the swimming pool open a few hours later for the kids to play in. AC worked so well, I had to actually turn it off ten minutes after turning... more

We booked 2 nights here because a friend knew the AREA & it was deemed "safe" to stay in. The Carpet was worn & had a layer of what felt like sludge all over. The Bath & Vanity floors were also NOT clean as one would hope. Yet the Beds & Sheets were very clean. We kept our sandels on... more

Just got back from staying at the Gateway Inn for 2 nights. I planned a last minute Memorial Weekend trip to Savannah. Most of the hotels with less expensive rooms were sold out, I saw 2 good reviews on here for the Gateway so I decided to book. The hotel location is decent, about 15 minutes from downtown Savannah. I... more

I knew I was in trouble when we opened the door...wires hung from the ceiling where the smoke detector should have been. Other lights did not work. The carpet was dirty and the room was...well, not up to standard. My wife was appalled that hotels would have booked us here. We immediately turned back the room and began a frantic... more
