The staff here was friendly, but, man, what a tired hotel. Hasn't been updated in decades. For a business traveler or just a bed for the night, it's fine, but if you're trying to have a leisurely, coddled stay in Savannah, I'd go elsewhere. more

The renovated third floor is very nice. ..they're working their way up.The hotel is "shop-worn" so is greatly in need a renovations. We paid $140 for a Sunday night on Priceline so did well. It seems to have a business-oriented feel but certainly up to snuff for a leisure stay. Quiet-time might be difficult during renovation as we heard pounding... more
Husband and I went to Savannah GA for an extended weekend stay..This was my first visit to Savannah. I booked my hotel on Hotels.com and the Hilton Desoto was very comparative to the other hotel prices but was more conveniently located in the Historic Distric which is where I wanted to stay. I booked a room on the executive floor... more
I will start with the positive, good location and great staff. The hotel is under renovations so there was the sound of jack hammers through out the day and not pleasant when we came back for an afternoon nap on a hot Saturday to cool down. The room felt damp and dirty and there was mold around the light fixture... more
The Lobby bathrooms really smell. It smells like they haven't mopped the floors in months. It really needs to be upgraded, and they may get a little more business. It's supposed to be a nice hotel, it needs some work. Please clean and freshen bathrooms in the lobby....guests need to feel at home in the lobby as well. more
The hotel was just OK. There are nicer places to stay in Savannah for the money. We made the mistake of eating dinner in the restaurant one night. Horrible!! We should have known when we were only 2 of 8 customers in the whole place. The scallop appetizer was undercooked, the ceasar salad was wilted and our filet mignon came... more
We stayed at the DeSoto Hilton for four nights with a destination wedding group. We were hesitant after reading some of the negative reviews, but it turned out our fears were unnecessary! We were really pleased with the location. The DeSoto is a quick stroll from some of the beautiful squares and the Colonial Park Cemetery. One of the tour... more
My wife and I spent 3 days celebrating our 37th wedding anniversery at the Hilton Savannah Desoto. Our only regret is that we had booked so many activities we did not have time to fully enjoy all the amenities the Hilton has to offer. The room was made to perfection each day and the memory foam mattress, ahh!!!! The hotel... more
I attended a conference in Savannah that was held at the Hilton Desoto and was offered a reasonable rate ($149/night) to stay on the premises. My wife traveled with me since neither of us had been to Savannah but our accomodations were less than we expected from Hilton. The building that houses the Hilton, like most of Savannah, is old.... more
I had read good things about the hotel but was very disappointed. I think I was given a worn out room. Problems included a sliding glass door that banged non-stop with the wind. I called maintenance to fix it - they did, but the door was not longer able to be opened. The bathroom was filthy and there was no... more
