We arrived in New Orleans and the weather was bliss, my first time there. With it being the month of Christmas I was anxious to get the flava for the birth of blues at such a beautiful time of year. When I first set foot into The Fairmont, it was a winter wonderland, Christmas trees all over the place. My... more

We had a great experience at the Fairmont hotel, a beautiful hotel not far from the French Quarter (a 10 minutes walk). It is a luxurious hotel, full of old fashioned charm. It was built in 1893. The rooms were beautifully decorated and roomy. They have a café with live jazz at night , where we had the chance to... more

Our room was awful - old and dirty would sum it up !!! We certainly wouldn’t stay here again if we went back to New Orleans, we visited in 2004 so this was before Hurricane Katrina. The lobby was very grand but unfortunately this did not transfer to the rooms. One night we were in the bar having a cocktail... more

The room was large but outdated. The whole hotel smelled musty and moldy. The front desk was very discourteous. When I mentioned to the front desk that my room smelled bad they stated very curtly that it was normal for the Fairmont and that I should have stayed at another hotel if I don't want mold. For close to $200... more

This must be the classiest hotel in New Orleans! We were on honeymoon and had a suite... it was fantastic. The hotel is olde worlde class and the staff are out of a similar era. It was just a great experience from beginning to end and uplifted us from an otherwise 'cheesy' view of some parts of New Orleans. Recommended. more

Just looking at the room service menu, one can tell that they do care about their guest especially the pets. There is a section in the room service menu for your cats and dogs. Staying at various hotels around the world, I have never seen anything like that before! Rooms, dated yes, however, not as bad as some would say.... more

My husband and I, and three other couples stayed at the Fairmont Hotel and loved it! We drove down to N.O. for an extended weekend stay. When we first walked into the hotel, the beautiful lobby transfixed me. It was like walking into the past. We had requested early check in, and when we got there at 1:30 p.m., our... more

I must say I thoroughly enjoyed the Fairmont. The high ceilings made no sure there was no noise at all from the other floors. I checked in around 4:30pm on a Friday and had no issues, and finally the food although a little pricy was top of the line. Finally the location of this hotel is one of the best... more

When we visited New Orleans, we found the Fairmont to be comfortable, accomodating and beautiful. Our room was on the 14th floor affording a nice view out over the city. Our king-size bed was comfortable and clean. The bathroom was the only place we had the least bit to complain about, and that was taken care of immediately (small spot... more

I stayed at the Fairmont as part of a week long workshop. The public areas were extremely nice, but the sleeping room floors were lacking. The hotel is a combination of at least 2, maybe more, old hotels. This leads to ramps/stairs in the middle of the hall, "A" and "B" floors in part of the hotel, and corridors that... more
