The Alpenland is a really lovely '4-star' hotel in the pictureseque ski resort of Obergurgl in the southern Tyrol. The hotel is family-run and in a fairly food location within the actual village of Obergurgl. You can ski from the back of the hotel (the piste is 10m from the back door) down to the village, gondola and chair lift... more

I stayed at the Alpenland with my family (wife and 3 children aged 10, 8 and 5) for a week this December and can thoroughly recommend the hotel. We chose Obergurgl as it was early in the season and we wanted to be sure to have snow - in this we were not disappointed and we had a great weeks... more

Stayed at the Alpenland over Christmas break. The staff were friendly and attentive and the food was excellent with a range of choices for dinner. Rooms weren't huge but extremely clean (as seems to be normal in Austria) The bowling alley and pool table etc were a hit with our teenagers as it gave them something else to do after... more
