We got our room through a "friends/family" deal and were booked to stay in a mountain view room. We had called ahead to let them know it was our honeymoon which was noted on the record and she immediately congratulated us. As we were checking in, my husband mentioned it was our honeymoon and as he was requesting an upgrade... more

I stayed at the GW for a few nights last summer. We stayed in the Napua Tower (our stay was free due to some connections). The room in Napua was lovely. Very clean and large. The bathroom was gorgeous and I LOVED the shampoo and conditioner they provided (I actually went and bought some in the little mall). We had... more

One can tell that this used to be a special place. But now the construction crews are roaming around and corridors here and there are closed for repair. The wheels of the housekeeping carts rumble loudly early in the AM on the tile floors. The food is ultra expensive (even for HI standards) and run of the mill. Feels like... more

The Grand Wailea Resort was not one of our first choices for Maui. We stayed on previous trips up in Ka'napali and Honokawai, and as Hilton Honors Diamond members, we were somewhat surprised by the lack of anything Hilton except for the GWR as a choice. But as it was the only choice for Maui if you wanted to use... more

I won a trip to this place. It was full of big corporate type. If that is your scene, this is for you. It's very nice! It is also enormous! Great setting and everything you can possibly expect. They missed nothing. more

OK, let's be fair about this....I'm a Maui Prince for the adults kind of guy, but finally my teen begged to come here instead. I DO understand that with the incredible pools and activity, teens would love this better. She adored the sushi...she and my wife felt it was the best they'd ever had. She LOVED the pool with the... more

I stayed at the Grand Wailea for business for a week. I work in the travel industry and was not impressed with this hotel. While it does boast a fantastic pool and luscious tropical landscaping, it is desperately in need of a serious renovation and could use a little kick in the pants when it comes to servicing groups. The... more

My wife and I stayed in the Napua Tower Club section of the resort during our recent week long vacation. The Napua Tower is an "elite" level of rooms with the requisite bump to an already substantial price. The rooms were spacious, clean (with the two notable exceptions) and had good views of the garden area, pools and ocean. The... more

We have stayed at the Grand Wailea 'off-and-on' for the past 10 years, but not since the Hilton acquired the property. I must say, that we were very pleased with the change. The front desk staff seemed much more attentive than in the past. The concierge service has been 'beefed-up'. The little 'personal items' that one would expect in a... more
