...All due to the poor choice of location. It was an unfortunate experience that left a bad taste in our mouths. My husband and I reserved a ballroom, several guest rooms and a couple of suites for our wedding. We traveled to NM from WY and we had our rooms booked for a few days prior to the wedding and... more

If you are looking for the sterile lack of personality aka Holiday Inn - Best Western, this will not be your place. I went looking for the old graces of the old Southwest. This was Conrad Hilton's first venture into the hotel business. This place took my breath away. It is not a magnificent place, it was built to be... more

We stayed here as part of a group attending the International Balloon Fiesta. The group was through the Smitsonian Institution. My friend and I wanted to extend our stay. I called about a month before we arrived with the extended dates (Sept 29-Oct 5), and was told there would be no problem. About a week later, my friend found she... more

I stayed in the hotel for a conference and had none of the problems other people had. I never heard any noise from the streets in my room and don't really understand why there would be that much since the bar district starts two blocks over and there are fair sized parking garages and buildings in between. College was definitely... more

This was a very reasonably priced stay. Yes, carpets needed replaced, walls needed painting, but I consider it a diamond in the rough. Everyone at desk charming and helpful. My room furnishings old, but bed linen clean. bathroom worked fine. My bed next to window was kind of noisey from street weekenders. Felt safe walking streets. Would I stay again?... more

About the best you could say about this place was "does not have bugs." The hallways smelled like urine, the carpets were filthy, the blankets were tattered and most of the furniture was missing in our room (no bedside table, etc.) However, they were in the process of rennovating-- guys with blueprints and hard hats running around and the front... more

Okay, the lobby is nice and the hotel does have charm - on the first two floors. The rooms are old and dirty. The old central AC doesn't keep pace with heat of the day - so get ready to sweat. The hotel is in the heart of the entertainment area, so don't plan on any sleep on a Friday... more

We stayed at the La Posada in August 2004. The Front Desk Manager was very pleasant and helpful, but the rest of the front desk staff were rude. The rooms were nicely decorated, and very clean, but taking a shower was a challenge. I'm sure the plumbing was ancient; when taking a shower in the morning the water would go... more

My husband and I spent a weekend staying at La Posada, where we had an executive room for a reasonable rate from Travelocity. The room was large, bright, with high ceiling and southwest decor. There was live music in the lobby on Saturday night, and generally we felt comfortable and pampered. I don't know why others would say the place... more

My husband and I spent New Year's Eve at La Posada de Alq. and spent $159 for a small, dumpy room. While we like old, historic places with character, this place- even though old and historic- is a dump nonetheless. The furniture in the rooms is not only out-dated but is in terrible condition. The bedspread was dirty as was... more
