I can confirm all other reviews, in Europe this hotel would have been closed down by health inspection. Horse Riding and activities were fine Rooms (leave them if you can) Food (eat outside the lodge) Staff (never met staff in the US even not able to speak English, I have not booked a trip to Eastern Europe) Check Inn (what... more

The Aspen Lodge is in the most perfect setting. Our cabin sat below Twin Sisters and looked directly at Longs Peak. Everyone we encountered at the livery was very accommodating and extremely friendly. The food was great. But, unfortunately, our three BR cabin was horribly outdated, filthy and way over priced! Our family of five stayed three nights and paid... more

Reception staff were rude and unhelpful. Activities Staff were too busy worrying about getting to the bar to get drunk after work to be of any use and then were determined to use up all the space at the bar and pool table so paying customers could not get anywhere near. Cleaning staff were absolutely useless. Am utterly disgusted and... more

Our family stayed at the Aspen Lodge in the main lodge, 2nd floor. The room was like a log cabin and just had a beautiful view of the Rocky Mountains! The water was yellow however, since i own a business in an older building, i know you just need to run the water for awhile to clear it out. It's... more

My father found this place for my family to stay while we were visiting him in Estes. Our "cabin" was an absolutely nasty dump! The carpet was dirty brown (not sure that was the original color), sheets were stained and too small for the bed, the window was nailed shut, the door wouldn't lock, the water was yellow (ew!)... I... more

This was hands down the worst place I have ever stayed!!! It was the dirtiest, nastiest place I have ever seen! We stayed in a cabin and it was literally falling apart. The screened in door was falling off of the hinges and the deck was collapsing. I had to wear my flip flops in the shower because I was... more

Aspen is trying but not there at all yet. It appears that they have put in new carpet and bathroom counters and tile recently. Problem is that they don't seem to be able to adaquatly keep it clean. First room had a Murphy bed with a mattress that was about as supportave as a tissue. Also dirty behind bed where... more

The AAA 2007 guide book and the 2004 Fodor's edition of Colorado both rated this place very highly, but we were very disappointed in the accomodations. The rooms (and cabin that they upgraded us to after we complained) were dirty and in dire need of new carpeting and upholstery. The bathrooms were in need of serious remodeling and the water... more

I was recently there for a conference. One of the organizers had been there about 15 years ago when it was apparently a nice place - it looks as if this place has not been cleaned in the following 15 years! There was a huge beetle/roach in our tub when we checked in; everything is incredibly run down; the furniture... more

We were staying at a sister property and were suggested to go to Aspen Lodge for horseback riding. It was fantastic. The staff was so nice and they took us into the Rocky Mountain National Park at the base of Longs Peak. What a treat. The colors of the aspen trees was just beautiful. It was a fantastic ride we... more
