While in Africa my fiance and I decided we wanted to get married there. We called Mnarani 2 days before we wanted to get married and they arranged EVERYTHING!! My husband and I got massages on the beach the morning of the wedding, and my hair done as I looked out at the ocean (I was even able to get... more

This was simply one of the best places I've ever stayed! The dinners were amazing with fresh seafood and fish cooked Swahili style dominating the menu. The breakfasts were ok..nothing special but filling. Lunchs, including their great seafood pizzas were amazing! I stayed in a garden cottage and it was great! Occasionally the A/C went down, but it was not... more

I had just finished 3 weeks of volunteering in an orphanage in Arusha and wanted to see the Indian Ocean. I had heard of Mnarani through fellow volunteers, but had not made reservations before my trip to Zanzibar. I stayed a night in Stone Town (where I made the reservations from), but left my traveling companions behind and went to... more

date review: March 27, 2008 Tony & Ellen from Holland We stayed at Mnarani the last two weeks of January. We had a perfect relaxed holliday! We had booked one of the beach cabins. These are rather small, but clean and tidy (airconditioned!) and with a very beautifull view on the sea. The restaurant serves a dayly menu and even... more

We visited Mnarani after two nights in Stonetown. We were pleased to find the relaxation and the great hospitality among the staff. I tried to find out what could be the explanation why people complained about the resort but with no luck. The standard is pretty much what we're used to when we visit greek islands in July. This is... more

We stayed there for 2 nights recently and were quite pleasantly surprised with what we saw. We had booked for the Zanzibar house honeymoon suite but upon day or check in we were told by the receptionist that they had made a mistake and they only had the Deluxe rooms available in Zanzibar house. We were quite upset, but to their... more

The place is fantastic. I am an experienced traveller and I can say objectively that Mnarani was great. The owner is a gentleman. Care and attention are evident in everything from the garden to the beach area, the bar and the rooms. The food is outstanding, and the pina coladas are world class. more

We stayed in Mnarani Beach cottages for three days and we absolutely loved the place. Our room was in the relatively new Zanzibar House directly opposite the seaside. The rooms are decorated with local furniture and beautiful flowers on the bed. They are spacious and include a fridge and beach towles. We absolutely loved the veranda with a comfortable hammock... more

After a long illness from which I am still recovering, we selected this hotel for a convalescence period in which the plan was to do nothing but lie in the sun and read. For this the hotel was perfect. We booked directly and at every stage, from initial enquiry to arrival at the airport for the return flight, the staff... more

I booked Mnarani after spending hours on Tripadvisor reading positive reviews for this place. I was truly mistaken. Let me tell you the reasons why: 1) THERE IS NO BEACH: Mnarani is located in Nungwi which is supposed to be one of the best beaches in Zanzibar, but the truth is you cannot swim on the beach in front of... more
