This place is really really nice and Sue the owner extremely warm and welcome, whereas her husband is rather strange. Any way, the set-up of the resort, the location, the beach and the swimming pool are just magic. Just be warned that though the Echo beach resort insist on the culinary talent of Andrew, the british chef, we were extremely... more

We stayed here for 4 nights from June 4th to 8th and are so pleased we did not choose one of the larger chain resorts. The property and beach villas are beautifully maintained and I cant imagine a more picture perfect palm fringed beach and powdery white sand. What really stands out though is the personal service that Sue and... more

What a sad disappointment after reading such wonderful reviews - especially the one from "Jersey Tiger". Two weeks ago I contacted Sue at Echo Beach to find out if they had accomodations for three of us after out Tanzanian Safari the end of July. Three days later after a few email exchanges between Sue and I, she had us set... more

There was a mix up with this booking, which was caused by bad communication due to the power cut affecting the computer the fact that we did not respond to e mails was not because we did no bother to contact her but because Zanzibar had a complete blackout lasting over a month which was widely reported and as a...

Our group of 7 was near the end of our trip to East Africa. We had been very active and adventurous in Zambia and Botswana and decided to take it easy in Zanzibar for the last few days of the trip. Finding the perfect spot on the island had become a labor of love for me, and I spent nearly... more

If you like to sunbathe in peace, read on a bed on your veranda enjoying the breezes of the beach and eat gourmet food then Echo is a great choice for you. It's wonderful! We stayed for three days at the end of our trip to Tanzania and it was amazing. It is a smaller botique resort unlike the huge... more

We had a fantastic experience with this hotel. Rooms are beautiful, all of them overlooking the sea, and with their own veranda at the front, which makes it very special. Food was the best I had in Tanzania, top-quality chef. I would recommend this place to my best friend and family. Just perfect. more

We have just returned from spending a month in Tanzania helpin g out in an orphanage. We had the privilige of spending the last five days of our stay at the new Echo Beach Hotel. This must be what paradise is like. Everything you could ever wish for especially the beautiful unspoilt white sand beaches where the only footprints are... more

We stayed at Echo Beach for just over a week around Christmas last year. We had a really wonderful time. Sue and Andrew are excellent hosts. And their staff are very courteous and friendly. The food was excellent; and was cooked as and when you wanted. You weren't shepherded in and out to eat at certain times as we heard... more

We spent 5 nights here just after the new year. We thought it was great. Its just formally opened so everything is brand new. There are 7 bungalows all which are sea-facing. We thought the room was a good size with a large verandah and a massive bathroom. We stayed on a half board basis which worked well. Food is... more

Imagine a white sandy beach the Indian Ocean un-spoilt views and not overrun with people, it makes it feel like your own slice of private Paradise. Sue and Andrew the British owners were very welcoming and always around to help and offer advise... more
