This was the most amazing week. We stayed in one of the four bedroom cottages with three other couples (two foursomes). The cottages were roomy, and really well appointed. We never felt crampt, and the bedrooms and bathrooms had all of the high end mod cons. The golf course is the best I have ever played, so much so that... more

Stayed here for two nights in March and it was just superb. We had stayed the previous March and it was fantastic to return and find it just as good. This hotel is truly five star - rooms, service, food - nothing can be faulted. From the moment you pull up and someone magically appears out of no-where to assist... more

This was my second stay in the Doonbeg Lodge. My first experience was so wonderful shortly after this beautiful place opened, I decided to return over the New Year, to get away from the frozen tundra in NE Wisconsin! I was on my own and the wonderful staff made me feel so welcome as soon as I set foot in... more

We chose Doonbeg for a short winter break because of its stunning location, sumptuous rooms (with fireplaces) and extensive facilities (golf, spa, gym, restaurants and bars). We were fortunate enough to negotiate a special rate of €675 for three nights bed and breakfast - a pretty good deal for such a top notch property. The Lodge at Doonbeg opened relatively... more

I stayed in Doonbeg for two nights in November. The entire estate including golf course, hotel, lodges, spa and staff are just excellent. This was without doubt and comfortably the finest hotel and resort I have stayed in, in Ireland. We were in one of the lodges for 2 nights. From the outside they appear rather plain and uninspiring (presumably... more

We initially chose to stay here because of the golf, but knew nothing about the Lodge as it hadn't been open long. Well, I can happily say that the Golf Course is brilliant and the Lodge is utterly divine. On arrival, there is no standard check-in reception desk, instead we were greeted like the Lord and Lady of the Manor... more

I got married two weeks ago and a friend at work recommended Doonbeg Lodge for a honeymoon. It is extremely expensive but we decided to push the boat out and book a riverview suite. We decided to stay for four nights. It was a long drive to get to Doonbeg from Dublin - well over five hours. The area that... more

This facility is clearly the best Ireland has to offer. The lodge consists of one or more bedroom apartments that are individually owned. When not in use by the owners the rooms are offered like a regular hotel. You drive up to a brand new building, on the coast. Plenty of good help with baggage, check in, tee times, and... more
