I have had the good fortune to be able to travel quite a bit in my life, and nothing compares to the Chateau de Bouceel. It is a magical place. It is a beautifully maintained, grand house built in 1763 that belongs to Count de Roquefueil and his family. If the walls could speak, there would be some amazing stories,... more

My husband and I chose the Chateau based on TripAdvisor reviews. All of our expectations were surpassed. We stayed in a gorgeous, spacious, beautifully furnished room. Count de Roquefueil was a gracious, caring and extremely entertaining hosts. His family has a most interesting history and we thoroughly enjoyed learning about this colorful family. He also provided excellent guidance on sights... more

As soon as we walked in the front door, I told my husband "now this is what I think of when I think French Chateau." We loved this place and would stay again if we venture back to this area of France. It is conveniently located just 20 minutes or so from Mont St. Michel which should be a must... more

We arrived at the Chateau in the late afternoon and were met by the Count. He made wonderful recommendations for dinner for us and was most entertaining with his family stories and stories of the area and history. On the second rainy afternoon, he served tea to all of the guests who were reading in the magnificent library. You can... more

Stayed at the Chateau Bouceel for a long weekend in Jan 2008, and can only reflect the other countless extremely positive reviews. The Chateau itself is the real deal, beautiful grounds, original antiques and a great building. The owners are charm itself, without being overpowering at all. Very helpful with everything from restaurants to horse-riding to calvados buying. It costs... more

We stayed here for 2 nights between Xmas and New Year and it was a lovely break, the room was beautiful and full of what I can only assume were family pictures and mementoes, I have never seen a place like it. It was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Our host Monsieur le Marquis was most welcoming and charming, recommending... more

Our family party of 6 (my parents, hubby & I & 2 kids, 9 & 11) stayed at chateau bouceel in late sept 2007. Our hosts Regis & Nicole were most gracious & informative. The Chateau history was wonderful & Regis was so patient & descriptive in his recount. The accommodation was splendid as was the breakfast in the stately... more

Back in 2001 when we were here the first time, this was a little find and now it is #1 on ta for Normandy. Back then, this hotel was the highlight of our 2 week Paris and Normandy vacation. We promised the owners we would return with our daughter when she was old enough to make the trip, we are... more

Stayed three nights here as part of a longer trip to France. Can't really add anything to the countless reviews before which have praised the place. The chateau dates from c1760 and you'll be staying in a room littered with family heirlooms. The Count and Countess are charm on legs. They organised restaurants for us and the Count insisted on... more

I felt like royalty at this gorgeous chateau. My only suggestion would be to include a bit nicer breakfast...only bread and apple juice was served. Otherwise.... a perfect stay at a perfect place more
