If you want to relax this is a great resort. Woderful small island which you can walk around in 10 minutes with beautiful turquise waters and wind sheltered sandy beach. There are only 4 fales and one larger block where the restaurant is located. The fales are built in traditional Tonga style with open windows. Each fale is about 10... more

Paradise on earth. Only four fales each situared on its own piece of private water's edge providing stunning views of the surrounding islands and reefs. To get from your own private space to the communal bar and dining area you can use bush walkways or wander along the beach. Mounu is an eco-resort where they utalise solar power and rain... more

We just had the most amazing week on Mounu Island. It normally takes me a week to unwind when having a break, but I was instantly refreshed and relaxed when arriving on Mounu. The reef was great for snorkeling. The boat trip to swim with the whales was something that I will never forget (I know this sounds dramatic, but... more

Awesome tropical paradise...the magical small tropical island with perfect beach and unbelievable turquoise lagoon we all dream about. Run by expat new Zealanders who know how to spoil their guests. The whale swim run by this famiy is an experience you must have once in your life. (Their dog barks when the whales swim by!!) The food, especially the fresh... more

Mounu Island Resort is the best place I have ever been in my 10+ years of travel around the globe. The location, setting, scenery is amazing - a real paradise with crystal clear water for swimming and snorkel. Its also a great place for kiteboarding or kitesurfing (my favorite sport). Whale watching and if you are very lucky whale swimming... more

I had the pleasure of staying on Mounu for 2 wks in 2005. I would probably return again given the chance. We went there with the whale swims in mind and went out on the boat everyday. It was beautiful the whales amazing and the owners were friendly. There is no dock when you arrive, they bring the boat as... more

We had the opportunity to spend some time in the Vavau group of islands of Tonga in June, and the Mounu Island Resort was recommended to us. It was everything our friends told us, and more. White sands that your feet sink into, bluest of blue seas so clear that you can see the fish when they come to the... more

we went here hoping to find a spot of paradise but we found much more. The island is like something straight out of a movie with stunning clear waters, beautiful white sand beaches and great hosts who make you feel completely at home. This holiday actually had an extra something special for us as i decided to pop the question... more
