We had a birthday dinner for my wife at this restaurant. Made a reservation and the place was empty when we arrived. We received a poor table while people who were clearly local received much better tables even though they arrived after us. The service was OK, but the staff took better care of the local people offering extra bread... more

We visited Chestertown during the DownRigging weekend, and had the Sunday brunch at the Imperial Hotel on November 4. This is a restaurant we would highly recommend. We recently visited the Imperial Hotel for dinner and I had one of the most memorable dining experiences I have been through in quite some time. The ambiance is delightful, the service is impeccable and the chef is outstanding. The range of flavours in each dish was amazing. I highly recommend the rock fish. Clearly there's been a change afoot since earlier this year. Apparently, the owners have brought in a talented young chef, who serves what I would best describe as 'sophisticated comfort food.'
