Let's start with the positives: what drew us to the restaurant was that Seabiscuit offers a number of dishes that you won't find anywhere else on the Island -- a departure from the typical burger and fries fare. My wife and I were both pleased with the quality of the food and the atmosphere. While the greeter was very nice,... more

We were there and the place was packed. We had to wait for a table, but since we were told it was one of the best places on the island to eat, we decided to wait. The tomato bisque soup was excellent and the dessert was heaven. We had been told you need to order the souffle when we ordered... more

My husband ate at 3 restaurants during our extended weekend stay on Mackinac Island: Goodfellows Grill Seabiscuit Café Yankee Rebel Based on my personal experience—I’d recommend to skip the first two and just go to the Yankee Rebel. I’ve reviewed each restaurant separately but here are the details on the Seabiscuit Café: We went on a Saturday, 6/14/08 around 11:30... more

The service at this restaurant was beyond sub-par. My husband and I arrived for dinner at 7:15 in the evening and the Seabiscuit was moderately full of people. However, after we sat down, three couples left. We thought service would be great, because it was a Monday night and many of the patrons were leaving or buzzing around the bar.... more

I was so happy when the boats started to run so we could get back to the Island. It is our favorite spot to vacation. AGAIN we went back to Seabiscuit Cafe and were pleased to no end that they continue, as always, to have great food and a friendly atmosphere. We come up about three times a season and... more

I have worked on Mackinac Island for 5 seasons and I am so glad that the Seabiscuit opened. It is a great place to relax, have a couple of drinks with friends and enjoy some music. Karl and Brian are two of the best bartenders on the Island. The food is excellent and the staff is first rate. I would... more

We were here late in June and found ourselves not only waiting outside the restraunt, but a considerably long wait after we ordered. Took a while before we saw our waitress to ask when we might see dinner. The food was good and I could see the place was very full. The atmosphere was pretty nice, but a little crowded.... more

The seabiscuit moves me, in everyway possible. From the greeting i get to the music they play(which is always changing) I just cant get enough. The most professional staff I ever encountered, especially Karl, always knows what i want. Anyway the lighting gives you this feeling that relaxes every muscle in your body except when the local bar crawlers come... more

We tried this restaurant because of the reviews on Tripadvisor and I am sure glad we did. We, there was 7 of us in our party, had the cheese sticks, sweet potato fries, onion rings, open faced gyro, pita, bbq ribs, ceasar salad, corn chowder, hamburger and everyone ate up everything! The presentation of the food was beautiful! We looked... more
