We visited this restaurant in early June on our honeymoon to Charleston. My husband wanted to go here, because the restaurant is famous. I'm so glad we went. The service was very good although our waitress was not necessarily friendly. She definitely had good meal suggestions and paid attention to our needs. My husband had the BALSAMIC AND BROWN SUGAR... more

Me and my wife went to this wonderful restaurant in July 2008. We loved the choice of wine and fine dining. I had mahi mahi fish and wife had tuna. Very good and melts in your mouth. The staff (Joe) picked out very choice of wine. Very friendly. I would love go back again. Excellant pick TripAdvisor. more

Creative menu in comfortable setting with great service. Fried green tomatoes abound in Charleston but not like this. The pear salad was perfectly balanced. Crab bisque was a bit too heavy for our menu choices and I would pass on the Crab/Goat cheese appetizer next time. But the delightful wine list and perfectly prepared menu is worth the stop. more

During our recent stay for our 30th Anniversary June 26,2008 we had a excellent dinner at Magnolias. I was a bit skeptical after reading mixed reviews. Though the atmosphere is nothing to write home about, the excellent food made up for it. I had the Filet Mignon, which was delicious, cooked exactly like requested. Would recommend for a dinner. more

The fried green tomatoes were too overshadowed with other flavors to really taste the fried green tomatoes. At Hyman's you can taste the tomatoes. Selected the fried chicken and found it to be a full meal, satisfying. The potatoes were uninspiring, corn and spinach had a southern spin. Didn't like our seating near the kitchen and closely connected to a... more

For lunch, we started with the egg rolls, highly recommended by our server. Bad choice. Very meaty and greasy. My wife had fried chicken with mashed potatoes and greens. Very plain. I had the mahi mahi special, broiled and served on a corn cake. It was salty, not tasty. We had pecan pie and creme brulee fror desert. The pecan... more

We went there as a party of about 40 and as such had a fixed menu and ate in the private upstairs dining area. While nice I'm sure we missed out on the really good selection and the experience as a whole. The upstairs dining area while nice had a noise problem with the size of our group, was virtually... more

Our dinner at Magnolias was very good. I had the shellfish and grits and was quite pleased. The service was great and the atmosphere was fun. I wouldn't say it's the best restaurant I have ever been to but I would probably return. more

We ate dinner here one night while we were in town for our honeymoon. It is truly one of the best restaurants in town! The service is superb - we received a very friendly greeting, and our server was extremely friendly and attentive. The decor is lovely, it is quiet and cozy, well-lit. I felt like my husband and I... more
