Raleigh Tavern and Bake shop was a great place to stop for a snack. Very reasonable. The ginger cakes, Queen's cake and apple cider were delicious and priced very, very well. Wow! we loved this place!! My favorite was the Queen's Cake..OMgosh goooood! and the sweet potato muffins were awesome too. My son had corn bread..well it is not your average corn bread..it was sooo smooth, like cake and was delicious..We also paired this with that Chowning's bottled Root beer..I had the diet one and it was easily the best root... more

We just got back from our first visit to Colonial Williamsburg, and we snacked here at Raleigh Tavern Bakeshop several times. On our first stop here, my husband asked what the apple crumble cake was - he was told it was not like what we think of when we think of a present-day crumb cake and that it was good.... more
I live in Williamsburg and I love this little shop. It is tucked away and a nice place to get breads, cider, lemonade, etc. And it is reasonably price. Try the ginger cakes or tavern rolls. Excellent. more

WE stopped in at the bakery while visiting and I had a really good walnut brownie and DH had an appleturnerover that he said was very good. The hot cider was just what we needed on a brisk day. more
