Lupa is definitely a hidden gem. My wife thought I was crazy when we pulled up to this unassuming storefront trattoria. We've been a fan since this chef was located on Nob Hill and the room was called La Luna Rosa. Yes, the food is fantastico! The appetizer selections are all wonderful. The pork and pollenta dish is extraordinary, as are the wide array of homemade pastas. The scalloppini melts in your mouth. And, of course, the deserts are real guilty... more

This restaurant totally exceeded my expectations of Italian food, rewrote its boundaries and showed me how magical good cooking can be. A fantastic educational experience at a very reasonable price. I love this little quanit italian dream. The food was amazing and the service so personal. You have to call and get directions or take a taxi from your hotel. It is in a little neighborhood that is safe and cute and happening. We were shocked at how good the food was. We even took pictures of it. more
